In 1892, Tavares was founded by J.M. Bower as a trading post on the St. Johns River. In 1927, it became a city and in 1959, it became an incorporated town. Mosely's son, Elijah Mosely, became one of the largest landowners in Tavares Township. In 1865, Isaac Goode built a cotton gin and mill on the banks of the bayou that now forms downtown Tavares. Goode also founded Goode & Company grocery store and fast-food restaurant which remains open today as One America Plaza Shopping Center.. The deregulation of agriculture caused many businesses to close around this time including Goode & Company; however, Today's Main Street offers much more than just groceries when you walk through its doors - it has been home to many local organizations such as Stonington Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) since 1978 and continues to be a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike!

After completing his education, JFK returned to America and started married politics when he won election as a Ulysses S Grant-appointed senator from New York in 1944 (a year after leaving Harvard). Kennedy entered politics fully aware that many Americans felt their beliefs were being ignored by their elected officials He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most controversial U S Senatorial candidates ever elected; he even ran for office while wearing diapers! His speeches were often highly critical of U US economic policies which had led to widespread unemployment during World War II; this caused many people throughout America to dislike him intensely However, despite all of his personal problems and perceived lack thereof, Kennedy always managed to keep up appearances Despite these difficulties, he still managed to win re-election four years later despite strong opposition from Richard Nixon
