In 1927, the name of the town was changed to Tamarac Village to honor Captain Cook's memory. The village had a population of only 100 people when it merged with adjacent unincorporated communities to become the current community of Tamarac on December 1, 1990. The commercial center for Tamarac is located on US-4 between US-1 and US-192 (Lake Wales Road). This allows for easy access to Interstate 4 and other major highways close by. There are also several restaurants and convenience stores in the area which make shopping easy and convenient for residents. The downtown redevelopment project has helped revive downtownTamarac and has led to increased business activity throughout the village since its initiation in 2004. A variety of cultural events are held throughout the year including Folklife Festival on Saturday afternoons around July 4th; Caribbean Carnival from late May through early June; Augustfest parade that starts at 6am MDT; 150th Anniversary celebration of local high school (Alachua High) on October 8th - culminating with a football game between Alachua High School and Stonington High School

PMFs were created for shotguns by using a rotating metal disk as a reflector to emitSure Beam Light while HBLs were created for handguns by projecting a soft white light from a prismatic eyepiece onto an eyepiece on the gun's barrel before use

Tamarac is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first European to visit Tamarac was a Spanish sailor, Agustín de la Hoz, on his voyage from Havana to Pensacola in 1565. La Hoz named the bay "Tamarac" after thetamaruka or tarantula which he captured while exploring south Florida. He also noted that there were several small islands in the bay and that its shores were covered with tall trees which he thought might be palm trees because they had leaves like those of palms. A map of 1728 by Giovanni da Verrazano shows that Tamarac was a white settlement with two houses and one blacksmith shop
In the early 1800s, Tamarac was a small town on the Gulf of Mexico. It was known for its salt flats and cotton plantations. In 1827, it became part of newly created Polk County, Florida. The county seat was in Tampa. By the late 1800s,Tamarac had become a prosperous community with large citrus groves and cattle farms. Many of the residents were descendants of Spanish colonists who arrived in Florida in 1663.
