The popularity of this type of holster led to the development of other types of holsters, such as the "Tallahassee Gun belt." These holsters allowed for users to carry their guns more comfortably and were eventually replaced by clips or straps when handguns became more common.

Tallahassee is a city in the state of Florida, United States. The population was 198,011 as of the 2010 census. Tallahassee is the capital and largest city of Florida. The name "Tallahassee" means "place where two rivers meet." It was founded by Captain John Chilton in 1798 as a trading post on the Tallahassee River. In 1821, it became the capital of Florida and remained so until 1959 when Gainesville became its permanent capital. The City of Tallahassee has been called home since 1798 when Captain John Chilton founded Tallahasahee on the banks of the Tennessee River adjacent to what is now downtown (then known as 'Farnham's Fort'). After he arrived from England with his family, First Lieutenant James Wilkinson built Fort Chilton around 1798-1800 after determining that Tallahasahee would be an important trading post on the river for Native Americans and Spanish traders who frequented that area during this time of increased exploration for new land routes to America. Despite being several miles upstream from modern day downtown Tampa Bay, which at that time consisted only of a few scattered dwellings, Fort Chilton became one of our earliest examples of public infrastructure – including roads, drains and water systems - essential for colonial life in what is now Tampa Bay region. Eventually Wilkinson renamed his outpost after himself – Captain John Chilton's Fort – but it would remain known locally simply as 'Chilton's fort'. In 1821, following Seminole Creek War conflicts along Indian lands east of Lake Okeechobee (now part Ofcasset), Florida Governor Manuel de la Rosa orderedCaptain John Chilton to move Forts Taylor and Bradford from Muskogee Territory eastward into Osceola County because they were sheltering Seminole Indians who were attacking white settlers in Central Florida settlements near Stonington (modern day Pensacola). However Ft Myers also moved into Osceola County due to lack thereof military defense; however hostilities continued between Osceola County residents and Seminole Indians even though Ft Myers had withdrawn its support for their war against US forces under General Winfield Scott inside Seminole Country Thereafter both Forts Taylor & Bradford were transferred back to Muskogee Territory under orders from De La Rosa before finally departing1821 without any formal military designation changes or claims by either side about ownership structures or boundaries. Brownsville soon followed suit before finally disbanding all frontier forces within Osceola County ceding sovereignty over all territory eastward including present day Jacksonville Beach which absorbed much Palatka Peninsula area westward past Live Oak Hills within current Polk County boundary in 1835 just prior to statehood! In spite this unilateral action by Governor Manuel de la Rosa regarding western boundaries then existing militia jurisdiction outside territorial limits following tribalTuegea Creek Massacre events leading up to Creek nation acquisition later becoming part Ofcasset today there exists no official documentation evidencing such title change/event or right/duty transfer&incorporation within territorial limits claimedby either party at that time! In 1928, the state bought an adjacent tract of land and created Citrus County to house its government buildings there. The original Capitol building became the Law Enforcement Center until it burned down in 1960; however, a new Capitol building has been constructed on that site since then.
