The Shooter Ear Plugs became popular after they were released for public use in 1955. They remained popular throughout the 1960s and 1970s until they finally went out of production in 1978. Sweetwater is a town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Sweetwater were Spanish traders and missionaries who traveled through the area in search of natural resources such as sugarcane and gold. The name "Sweetwater" may be derived from a Seminole word meaning "the place where sweet water flows". It was not until 1849 that a settlement was established by African Americans calledUniontown. Uniontown changed its name to Sweetwater in 1857 when the state legislature renamed Brevard County after General Andrew Jackson, one of the main sponsors of the Ku Klux Klan's formation two years earlier. In 1870, an Irish-owned sawmill operating on Gainesville Bay produced lumber for Sweetwater and other areas in central Brevard County. In 1903, Jacksonville developer Harry Hickey bought land east of Gainesville Bay and built what became known as Hickey Park on it for his own personal use and enjoyment; this land would later become Orange County’s largest parkland area. In 1907, Sweetwater incorporated as a city under the laws of Florida; at that time it had a population of only 640 residents. In 1912, following annexation by Sanford (then unincorporated), Sweetwater had a total population exceed 2,000 residents for both cities combined! A new downtown square was developed initially with large blocks of commercial buildings fronting West Water Street between First Avenue South and Polk Boulevard; these blocks have since been filled in but some remnants remain today including Stonington Square which fronts East Water Street between Second Avenue South and Third Avenue South (see photo). By 1921 Interstate 95 had been completed through much of Central Florida making travel more convenient for people living near big towns like Orlando or Tampa; however business interests within both cities continued to conflict over development boundaries so by 1926 bothSweetwaterand Sanfordwere amalgamated into one municipality with their new downtown square still serving as its centerpiece surrounded by high-priced single-family homes on several sides while maintaining separate streets/ avenues within their respective municipalities!. This move saved taxpayers approximately $5 million dollars each year during those years! It should also be noted that Sanford did not challenge this merger because they wanted to stay part of Kissimmee – although they would eventually lose all their municipal property rights) . This municipality formed The Civic Association which spearheaded many civic improvements throughout its lifetime including creating parks & gardens around town including Wahoo Swamp Preserve & Scenic Drive where you can see numerous typesof wildlife including manatees & egrets if you take your car out onto Scenic Drive just west Of I-4 exit 407 Dixie Hwy then head north about 10 miles there will be another I-4 exit named SWEETWATER DRIVE which leads you back into town . During World War II most businesses closed down due to rationing however many were reopened once war ended . One notable exception was JCB Shoes which continued production until 1941 despite being closed during WWII Thanks largely to military contractssweet water never again experienced any serious shortages in goods available local or imported

Sweetwater is a small town located in south-central Florida, United States. The population was 1,461 at the 2010 census. It is part of Hillsborough County. Sweetwater was founded in 1875 by Isaac Sweet and his family as a post office and trading settlement on the Apalachicola River near what is now Tallahassee. The community became a township in 1907, then an incorporated municipality in 1959. It lost its charter status in 1992 but regained it the following year. The town has two historic districts: one dating back to 1875, and the other from 1909. In both districts, buildings are characterized by Stick-and- plank construction with adobe bricks used for veneerings and roofing materials. Many of the original residents still live in Sweetwater today though some have relocated to nearby communities such as Tampa or Clearwater.
The first European to visit Sweetwater was a Spanish soldier, José Antonio de la Cruz, who landed on the island in 1763. In 1821, General Andrew Jackson invaded Florida andSweetwater became part of his march through the state. The town was founded by James C. Goodloe in 1824, after he purchased land from the Creek Nation. The town was named for Sweetwater River which flows through it.
