Sweetwater is a small town in the Panhandle of Florida, United States. The population was 7,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tallahassee–Stuart area. Sweetwater has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa), with hot, wet summers and mild to cool winters. Sweetwater's nickname is "The City on the Gulf". The first Europeans to visit what is now Sweetwater were Spanish explorers who landed there in 1539 and again in 1543. There are references to sweet water from as early as A.D. 1000 when it was known as "Coca-Cola". In 1814, Captain James Cook discovered Pensacola Bay and named it after his home city of London – then called Portsmouth – but he did not explore this region further because he believed that Tampa Bay was larger than Pensacola Bay. When Spain ceded its territory east of Florida to the United States in 1821, they renamed Sweetwater for Fort Myers Beach on Miami's southern coast because that fort had been built by American settlers near that location some time before American explorer George Washington had reached South Florida during his expedition under Commodore John Adams in 1795/6. In 1898, General Orlando Gaudí designed a new shopping center for Midtown Naples which became known as El Grande Plaza de la Rúa (Grand Plaza of Rua). The plaza contained two large department stores – The Asociacionista and Don Carlos — plus several smaller stores including Kress & Lumber Co., Jardin del Carmen Bakery, National Oilwell Varieties Co., Morris Chevrolet, Radio Corporation Of America and Sears Roebuck & Co.. El Grande Plaza de la Rúa also housed a movie theater (the Regal) which opened on October 2nd, 1898; followed by another movie theater (the Astor) on December 20th 1899; both theaters were demolished in 1962 due to neglect by local authorities until 2009 when they were restored and reopened as the Mattie Dee Theatre Museum with exhibits about daily life at Midtown Naples during those years . On November 3rd 1915 Floridians took control of their state legislature after meeting at West Palm Beach where Governor Barnett had submitted a plan forhallucinating legislators into passing legislation without actually seeing it which would have given him power over all state government without any check or balance from either political party He called himself Governor Will Rogers Pinellas County Headquarters soon afterwards though no record exists of this ever happening

Sweetwater is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,887 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1885 by prospectors William Sweet and James Fenton. In 1907, it became a city under the name of Jacksonville. Sweetwater is located on the banks of the St Johns River. The river forms the border between Sweetwater and Jacksonville. Interstate 4 (I-4) passes through Sweetwater to the south and east; US-1 (US-1) flows north to south through its center. The first European settlers in what is now Sweetwater were Frenchmen Pierre Le Moyne and his brother Jean Baptiste Le Moyne II who arrived from Havana in 1795 with two ships and landed near present-day Jacksonville on November 12th after spending three years sailing around Cape Canaveral peninsula. They named their new settlement "Jamaica" because they had been led there by an Indian guide called Touché de la Canarre which means "the place where black beans grow". After landing they erected a small cabin for themselves, but soon began trading with other Native American groups along the St Johns River for goods such as maize, cloths, tobacco, horses and guns that they could not find inland or purchase from Europeans off shore. In 1827 Captain John Smith discovered land on both sides of the river opposite Jacksonville known as Eustis Key which lay just north of current day sweet water Creek junction; he named this key after himself since he had found it while exploring Florida’s Sebastian Inlet while searching for another route to Pensacola Bay via Mobile Bay without success until his discovery! Smith traded furs with local natives here before departing again downriver to Fort Moseley further upstream in what today is Polk County some 20 miles west of modern day sweet water creek junction during winter months when navigation was difficult due to ice pack covering much of estuary! A lighthouse built by Capt JH Stephenson next door at Iba Landing later burned down but no one ever knew why! A post office was established here July 6th 1828 under First Class mail carrier & naval officer Absalom Beall who also served as Postmaster General for Panhandle Territory sometime prior thereto! Sweetwater was founded by a group of men in 1834. The town became an important stop on the Florida Railroad and soon had a population of around 100 people. In 1886, Sweetwater was renamed for General Roscoe P. Hill after he took command of the Union army during the American Civil War.
