The bill failed but this did not mean that gun advocates were lackadaisical about safety concerns; they quickly reintroduced the bill two months later with new amendments which were finally successful when it became legislation (HB 6) on January 3rd, 2010! The newly enacted law amended existing Gun Laws § 893 et seq., creating a new section entitled “Firearm Hat Regulations” which authorizes county sheriffs to issue Firearms Permits (FHP) only upon application by an individual seeking handgun ownership within Polk County limits; provides that any FHP issued shall expire one year after issue unless renewed by written request thereof; imposes a $25 per item administrative fee upon receipt of each FHP; requires individuals possessing any type of rifle other than muzzleloader/shotgun intent on hunting game animals must present both federal hunter registration card and valid state identification number at time OF purchase; prohibits possession ever beyond what is allowed under state statute for owning such rifle(s); requires completion of an NRA safety course prior TO obtaining FHP

Sweetwater is a town in Tallahassee County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The first permanent white settlers in Sweetwater were those who founded Camerontown on the east side of Sweetwater Creek in 1821. They named their community for General James K. Polk, who had won a disputed election in that year and become president of the United States. After settling in what is now Sweetwater, these early pioneers developed a small industry producing salt and other agricultural products from land they acquired along Sweetwater Creek and its tributaries. In 1828, John Kirby built his home near present-day Uptown on land he had purchased from David Hoggs; Kirby became one of Tallahassee's early merchants and political leaders. In 1830, David Jethro Gibbs bought 640 acres (246 hectares) north of present-day Uptown from Jethro Gibbs & Company for $2 million according to an1830 deed recorded in the Tallahassee County courthouse; this property became known as "Gibbs Land". At that time it included all or part of both Talbot County and Orange County west of Lake Wales Mountain; much later it would include most of Brevard County as well based on boundary changes during Seminole Wars battles between Spain and Great Britain over lands which eventually became Florida Territory. In 1840, when Gibson's purchase was finalized by deed at Tallahassee courthouse under Supreme Court order following legal challenges brought by Gillett brothers – three prominent Jacksonville citizens – Gibbs successfully argued that because he held title to some but not all parts of modern-day Talbot/Orange Counties (the eastern edge then including much today's Duval Peninsula), he should be allowed to continue using those names instead of being lumped together with nearby Talbot/Orange men who claimed adjoining tracts also owned by them – thus solving an earlier jurisdictional problem that had led to litigation and conflict over titles since before statehood.
