In Sunrise, Florida, the history of guns and gun parts goes back to 1922. The city was founded on October 14th, 1922 by James O’Dowd and his wife Lily. At that time, it was a small town with a population of just over 1,000 people. But within a few years, Sunrise had become one of the most heavily gun-owning communities in Florida. In 1948, Sunrise became an armory town when the United States ARMY moved its headquarters from Fort Myers to Sunrise. It would remain an armory through the early 1960s when it was closed down for lack of use. However, during this time period there were also numerous other businesses in Sunrise that sourced their guns from the armory. The first gun store in Sunrise opened up in 1954 and is still open today as The Armament Shop Incorporated. It has been through many changes over the years but has always remained a source for firearms parts and equipment to both local and national customers alike. In 2013, The Armament Shop Incorporated purchased neighboring business Gun Emporium which continued to be their primary source for firearm parts and accessories until its closure in 2017. Today however, due to rising prices associated with inventory depletion at Gun Emporium as well as other factors (eccentricity of ownership among some employees), The Armament Shop Incorporated is no longer able to provide adequate services for their customers nor maintain enough product stock themselves to meet demand. As such they are now working collaboratively with several suppliers who offer similar services at much lower rates while maintaining full customer support should something go wrong along the way shredding paper

Sunrise, Florida is a small town located in Alachua County, Florida. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Sunrise is adjacent to Lake Okeechobee and to the east of Clearwater Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The first Europeans to visit Sunrise were Spanish missionaries in 1795. The area that now includes Sunrise was part of Indian Territory until 1861 when it became part of Florida. In 1821, President James K. Polk approved a request from John Quincy Adams for land in Alachua County that would be used for military training purposes along the Gulf Coast between St Augustine and Pensacola. This area would eventually become Sunrise Township and Clearwater Beach Borough. In 1843, Stephen Auld founded what is now Clearwater Beach as an English settlement on Tampa Bayou near where Watson's Landing later became known. In 1845, Captain John Fenton established Fort Brooke on Jupiter Island in Clearwater Harbor so that naval forces could launch attacks against pirate ships off Tampa Bayou without being attacked by the pirates themselves. As part of this effort, Fort Brooke also served as a lighthouse and harbor office during those early days ofastronomy in America In 1870, Captain George Ashe established a trading post at Sunrise with his family at what is now Crescent Key Lighthouse Captain Ashe's son-in-law Drury erected a new courthouse and jail in 1890 which still stands today across from Sunrise High School . It was here that Judge Harry Wessels presided over trials for criminal cases in Alachua County until 1898 when he moved to Tallahassee Governor Albert J. Johnson ordered Lt Colonel Robert Elisha Armstrong set up an outpost at Sunrise on May 16th 1865 after learning about Confederate troop movements around Gainesville Armstrong had been stationed there since April 2nd 1865 while General Johnston's army reoccupied Jacksonville From here he developed plans to take advantage of an exposed Confederate position south of Wakulla River On July 12th 1865 Major Armstrong led 3 companies (2 rifle companies) under Lieutenant Colonel Willis Hargrave through heavy cavalry screening into Confederate territory about 5 miles northwest of Gainesville He discovered no enemy troops but did find evidence that Confederate General John Crouch had withdrawn most all his forces from north central Florida At about 11 PM he reported his findings back to headquarters Atlanta Georgia That night General Johnston ordered wholesale destructionof all installations not connected with defense or garrisoning points northeast of Jacksonville including Fort Pickens And sunrise was born
Sunrise, Florida was founded in 1867 by Captain John H. Elliott and his wife Elizabeth. The town was named for the sun that would rise each morning. In 1925, the name of the town was changed to Daytona Beach after being chosen as the site of Daytona International Speedway. The speedway is now part of the company Speedway Motorsports Inc., which operates it as a racing event facility.
