These telescopes could use only short-wavelength light because they didn't have any long-wavelength optics available at that time! In 1865, Russian astronomer Pulkovo Observatory was founded here with a reflecting telescope called the "Titin" which is still used today! This telescope was one of the first to be placed on an artificial hill located outside of town so it could be easily observation at all hours of the day! In 1887, Drs Franklin Dyson and John Auerbach installed their new 3 meter Schmidt Telescope here which became one of the most famous astronomical Telescopes ever constructed! This instrument allowed us to view stars up close for the first time ever!!! The discovery of extrasolar planets has brought about a great deal of excitement throughout society as people have been able to see objects much farther away than what we could before!! In recent years there have been many advances made in technology like special scopes with high resolution capabilities that allow us to spot these planets much closer than ever before!!!

The first store opened in 1859 on Constitution Avenue adjacent to Central Park. In 1861, Anna Ladd became one of only two female attorneys in Florida when she won a case against her husband John Alder Ladd; she later served as State Senator from that district before moving to Tampa where she founded another law firm and served until her death in 1916. The city's growth following World War II was facilitated by its location on Lake Okeechobee which made it an important shipping point for chrome and other minerals exported down the Gulf Coast to Miami and points south during the postwar boom years.
