The first post office opened in 1927 under the name "Anchorage". On May 5, 1930 mail began arriving at "Miami Beach Aeronautics" from Key West and Tampa Bay; this station moved to its current location on Third Street SW in 1937 when all other aeronautical stations were closed due to World War II military activity along the US east coast including Southmie

On February 18, 1800 Antonio Higueras y Real became Mayor of Santo Domingo de la Vega after defeating Pedro Rivera Reyes in a mayoral election that took place two days earlier due to irregularities caused by questions about whether Higueras could contest because he was not registered as a voter or because revolutionary forces had taken over his home town Travestián after its citizens threw him out as mayor following their victory over Rivera Reyes' forces). John Fenton purchased 1/3 interest in La Romareda Plantation from José Méndez y Costilla on December 5, 1822 for $2,000 cash plus 10 slaves; After purchasing this plantation Fenton renamed it "South Miami". From 1824 to 1830 Fenton leased land near Flagler's Landing called "Fulton's Point" from John Quincy Adams for £540 per annum payable upon planting trees thereon and paying yearly quitrents totaling £27 4s 6d Additionally between 1830 and 1840 Fenton leased additional land at "Fulton's Point", including all that extends along US 41W shoreline northward beyond what is now Little Haiti beachfront development since then known as Mackey Headland until its purchase by developer Philanthropy Partners LLC., developers behind plans for promenades running parallel to Grassy Key Drive through Mueller Park(Stuart Green), connecting Brownsville with North Port via Cross Keys Boulevard(Fleming Road)); These parcels included most recently Coconut Grove (northwest corner property formerly owned by AIG banknorth Building) . With these acquisitions Fenton became one of America’s earliest largest landholders associated with sugar plantations outside West Indies slave territory."
In 1892, a group of businessmen from Miami, led by J.B. Hunt and James Laughlin, founded the Miami Electric Railway Company to build a railroad between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The company was successful and in 1897 completed its first line, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale Railroad. In 1899, the company merged with another railway company, the Florida Railroad Company to form the Florida Railway System. In 1903, the Miami Electric Railway Company became part of Southern Pacific Corporation when that company purchased all of the assets of the Florida Railway System. In 1912, Southern Pacific Corporation merged with American National Railways (ANR) to form Amtrak. The Miami Electric Railway Company was liquidated in 1969 and its tracks were sold off to various companies including Air Force Base Rail Road which operates them today as part of theirrailroad system called "The railway network".
