By 1970 there were more than 100 homes and businesses in South Daytona with an estimated population of 2,500 people living within walking distance of all forms of public transportation including buses to local shopping malls or beaches but no dialysis treatments available at the time! In 1978 heavy rains caused significant flooding which damaged many homes and businesses in downtown South Dayton; however due to donations from local citizens together with fundraising efforts by the Chamber Of Commerce throughoutDuval County they were able to rebuild quickly taking less than two months! South Daytona is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in South Daytona was John Cone in 1824. The town was founded on December 13, 1825 by James Waddell and his family from Georgia. In 1830 Waddell sold land to Jethro Coffin and others who named the community "Coffin's Cove" after Jethro Coffin of Tennessee who had taken up a farm there a year earlier. In 1836 the Town of Daytona Beach was ceded to South Daytona as part of U.S. Grant's Treaty with Spain which ended the Seminole Wars in Florida. South Daytona became an incorporated municipality on November 5, 1840 with Aiken as its first mayor. At that time it had a population of about 60 people and included only eastside residents; today it has a population exceeding 2,000 people mainly due to development around the harborfront neighborhoods along Cutler Bay Boulevard and Biscayne Boulevard which were developed starting in the late 1990s when construction began on I-95/I-4 nearby (the expressway being built just south of downtown). Miami annexed South Daytona on May 15, 1909 following annexation of much larger cities including Kendallville (west side), Doral (northern half), Sunrise Heights (southwestern half) and Marriotts Key (northwest end). On October 1st 1903 Mayor Grieve offered free water to all resident for one year until new water system could be built properycosting $2 million dollars (). Today there are no public services available other than meters that give real time information about usage so citizens can plan their trips accordingly!
