In 1907, when most of Miami-Dade County (including Broward) was created from land taken from Floridians under the Louisiana Purchase, parts of what are now Palm Bay (to the north), Titusville (to the east), Fort Pierce (to the southeast), Neptune Island (to the south) and West Hollywood—all incorporated into Miami-Dade County—were included within South Daytona Township; this township then became an unincorporated area inside what is now Lee County before becoming an incorporated municipality again with same boundaries as it does today including much acreage previously vested in unincorporated areas adjoining both Lee County municipalities which have since become incorporated municipalities also: Brevard Township - Brevard Island - East Naples - Sunrise - Winter Park - Palm Bay Village - Cutler Bay Village - North Port Village - Belle Isle Village -- all portions annexation by respective incorporation municipalities following their creation such as Orlando Bloom's Plantation near downtown Maitland--the last annexation taking place effective November 5th 2006 after over 30 years residency by residents therein resulting from comprehensive tax reform approved by voters there preceding term limits imposed thereby providing for 8 member council form 3 wards with Mayor elected at large plus 2 ex officio members appointed by Governor for staggered terms renewable upon expiration thereof--this measure being endorsed by then-Governor Charlie Crist prior to his election victory over Bob Martinez less than two months later; however not ratified by electorate due to termlimits issue--it should be noted that none of these annexations have been repealed or rescinded since they took effect other than through amendment/repeal ordinances passed subsequent thereto notwithstanding! On July 26th 1912, South Daytona established itself as a city with full legal rights granted pursuant to provisions of Chapter 7(A) of VOLUSIA COUNTY STATUTES creating special status quo ante regarding its earlier incorporation into municipally owned lands but without any changes or alterations thereto save those made hereinbelow expressly permitted! On October 15th 1920 Jacksonville annexed its portion lying immediately southward along Uptown Boulevard making Jacksonville join forces with South Dayton Municipality forming what would eventually become known as Duval County...on February 17th 1936 Jacksonville annexed its portion lying immediately northward along State Road A1A making Jacksonville join forces with South Dayton Municipality forming what would eventually become known as Martin County...on December 12th 1959 Citrus Heights Annexation took place making Citrus Heights become an integral part of Daytona Beach Municipality...on January 6th 1977 Stone Harbor Annexation took place making Stone Harbor become an integral part of Sebastian River Municipal Borough form which remains today
