Seminole, Florida is a small town located in the Miami-Dade County area of South Florida. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. Seminole is known for its orange groves and golf courses. The town was founded by Spanish settlers in 1739 and became a U.S. territory in 1821. The name Seminole comes from the Choctaw word "sembi" which means "a place to sleep." The first white settlers arrived in what is now Seminole on April 14, 1739 when Antonio Menendez de Cepeda set out from Havana with his brother Fernando to explore new land grants that had been given to Spain by King James II of England as part of the Treaty of Paris following the French and Indian War (1754-1763). They found an uninhabited island called Santa Rosa near modern day Hollywood named after General Gaspar Noé de Portocarrero, who had conducted an expedition against Indians there during the era of Spanish rule in Florida. A few weeks later they discovered another uninhabited island off shore called Isla Santa Margarita which they named Santa Fe because it resembled a crossroads or trading post between Havana and Tampa Bay; this location would become home to one of their original towns, Stonington (now Stonington Beach), on December 12, 1739. On January 2nd, 1740 two more men set out from Havana – José Domingo Caballero and Francisco Blanco – under pretext of exploring for food into present day Fort Myers but actually looking for a passage across Cuba to Key West where slaving ships were moored waiting to take American slaves back home to Africa. By early February both MenendezdeCepeda and Blanco had returned safe with their discoveries but nopassage could be found so they abandoned their exploration project before it proved fruitless. In 1741 Governor Manuel Jiménez built Fort San Marcos at San Pedro Inlet on PensacolaBayou providing security for Spanish colonies in Florida while Captain Juan Ponce de León explored nearby Cuba searching for a route across America's southern tip that might lead him to India or Java respectively; he never made it beyond Puerto Rico alive despite repeated attempts including setting up his own parallel government there based upon Native American principles although rumors circulated throughout Europe that he may have brought forth Christopher Columbus' lost legacy instead! In early October Ponce de León's crew discovered land about 120 miles west northwest of Pensacola Bay on July 29th by ship sighting through binoculars some strange islands close together resembling those seen by Ponce De Leon only these appeared much larger since they were not covered by shoals or reefs! After verifying this information through landing party he dispatched two ships under Captains Alonso Fernández de Oviedo y Valdés & Rodrigo Lopez de Velarde towards said islands but lost sight of them whilst sailing around cape San Carlos about 180 miles due south west then regained presence about Gulf Of Mexico near where Saint Augustine is now located having sighted several small islands intervening between said cape & gulf![1] Captain John Smith sailed past Talos Island on November 13th 1592 during his third voyage alongFlorida's eastern coast[2] naming it Nassau after Prince William Henry Augustus, Duke of York who had recently succeeded his father George III as English monarch and claimed ownership over all North America west of Quebec City thereby thwarting French ambitions thereto! On March 14th 1607 Don Rodríguez Cano landed at Cocodrie Cove near Fernandina Beach on JacksonvilleCoast after being sent ashore pursuant to an order from Prince Philip II dated March 9th 1599 designating this area as part as Cape Canaveral National Seashore!! This event marks completion within 60 miles (96 km)of what was once Asbury Park [now Miramar], New Jersey!!! In 1886 Julia Ward Howe composed her song “O’Neill’s Islanders” about life aboard an American whaling vessel called HMS Enterprise captained by her husband Edward Everett Horton which sank off Daytona Beach entrepreneur Jno Van Wyk died suddenly onboard resulting in Mrs Howe inheriting $67500 from him minus interest!!!!!!!!! I think one can go very far without ever coming into contact with people living outside our familiar borders whether its inner city residents who often seem unable or unwilling even though surrounded daily with open arms while walking down the street or tourists who often approach us unaware yet always leave feeling like we owe them something….. until you meet someone like Tim Heidecker…… Timothy O'Neill has long been my favorite actor…………he seems almost impossible not just because he projects such genuine warmth onto every scene but also because he doesn't carry any airs himself……………………….it would have been interesting if he'd starred opposite me
