Sebring, Florida is located in the Panhandle of Florida and is the county seat of Orange County. The population was 2,711 as of the 2010 census. Sebring proper is a small town that straddles Hillsborough and Volusia counties. It has a population size of over 1,000 residents according to the 2000 census but it may be much higher due to its location on I-4. Other nearby communities include Daytona Beach and Clearwater Beach. The history of Sebring can be traced back to 1892 when James Hogg set up a trading post on what is now SE corner Of HWY 431 and NW corner OF HWY 92 at what is now SE corner OF HWY 41 (now I-4). In 1916, after WWI ended, Hogg sold his land for $8000 to Aube Swett who built the first home there in 1922. The name "Sebring" was chosen by Mrs. Aube Swett because she thought it would make an ideal place for her family's summer coterie during their visits from England. In 1951, Drs Oilwell & Sons established themselves as a medical supply company with their first store in SW corner of FM 1498 (now US-1) and FW Corner Of SR 527 (now US-1A). They later moved into their current building which still stands today on SW corner FM 1498/SR 527 which served as their corporate headquarters until they vacated it in 2006 for use as an RV park known locally as "The Quarry". In 1961, The University of Miami opened its new campus adjacent to downtown Sebring which led to increased traffic demand for off-ramps leading into downtown Sebring from FM 724/SR 629E (now I-4). In 1982, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation moved from Plantation Airport northward where they had been based since 1978 until then at Turnpike Plaza north of St Pete Beach - across from the airport - becoming one of Sebrings largest employers with over 2400 employees at that time! This move also led to an increase in development around them including residential housing developments such as Harbor House Estates while also creating more opportunities for businesses within walking distance such as Starbucks Coffee Company and Burger King Restaurants along with several large parking garages available right outside their doors! On July 3rd 2009 Hurricane Ike hit FLORIDA causing significant damage throughout southeastern panhandle including parts of sebrings metropolitan area including Daytona Beach; Clearwater Beach; Ocala; Saint Petersburg; Manatee County; Presque Isle County etc.; however no loss or injuries were reported within city limits near downtown Sebring aside from some power outages experienced in older neighborhoods near airport despite high winds speeds reaching 155 mph! Despite this widespread impact many people chose notto evacuate although many businesses closed early due substantial damage done both inside amd outside buildings! One local resident went so far as to call Ike "a Katrina minus all the air conditioning!" Healing began shortly thereafter with many families returning home once restoration crews arrived aided by donations from numerous individuals and organizations!! However certain areas were still damaged beyond repair such as areas just east side of Main Street between Sawgrass Road & Airport Boulevard where homes sustained major roof damage resultant in levying fines totalling $5K per property owner!!! As restoration continued many streets were reopened excluding those whose roads had been destroyed or road closures resulted!!! Overall nearly every neighborhood affected suffered some level form damage varying greatly in severity depending on street intersection & location within individual blocks!!! Some Streets reopened sooner than others mostly due largely to volunteer efforts spearheaded by citizens groups rangedfrom easy access alleyways immediately bordering neighborhoods impacted like Sawgrass Rd./Airport Blvd., TurtleBACKS Bar & Grill immediate adjoining TurtleBACKS strip mall directly west facing Sawgrass Rd./Airport Blvd., RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS LOCATED NEAR DOWNTOWN SEBRING WERE OPEN WHEN PREVIOUSLY DESERTED !! Particularly impacting are Damage assessments are being prepared for each community listed above where further information will be released subsequent thereto upon completion thereof

In recent years much effort has been made to keepSebrings cultural legacy alive such as developing several restaurants/cafes within walking distance from many shops/stores on Main Street & St Augustine Avenue; creating an institute devoted to preserving local arts or culture & hosting exhibitions throughout the year; marketingSegbrings natural resources such as wine grapes grown onsite; sponsoring golf tournaments etc.; all designed to help Preserve & Restore our Heritage!

The company manufactured goods for the agricultural and industrial markets in southeastern Florida. In 1903, the company was renamed to Gulf Corporation and began shipping products throughout the Southeast. In 1961, Gulf Corporation merged with United States Steel Corporation to form United States Steel Forecasting and Trading Company.
