There are also several golf courses available within walking distance of Sebastian Community Center which includes a junior varsity baseball team as well as tennis courts and playgrounds for children ages birth – 6rd graders

Sebastian, Florida was founded on November 3, 1868 by Sebastian and Anna de la Rosa. The town was named after the Spanish word "santiago" which is used to describe the Territory of Florida. In 1907, the city of Sebastian annexed the adjacent community of Winter Garden.
