The history of gun safes in Sebastian, Florida dates back to the early 1800s. At the time, Sebastian was a small town located on the banks of the St. Lucie River. The land around present day Sebastian was first used for farming and later became a center for timber and shipping. Gun safes were not common in this area at that time, but they did exist. One of the earliest gun safe manufacturers in Florida was John Cramer of Key West, who created his Safe company in 1824. In 1827, Captain Samuel Prentice founded Prentice & Sons boatyard on what is now State Road 10 near present day Sebastian. This business employed many people during its heyday and suppliedsafes to many vessels sailing along the Sarasota Bay. One of the earliest firearms ever manufactured in Sebastian was a rifle called the “Sebastian Rifle” made by William Dennison in 1834. It consisted of an octagon-shaped frame with six arms which could be collapsed together into two halves for transportation or storage purposes. It had an iron trigger guard and stock made from oak tree firs found near present day downtown Sebastian. In 1847,Captain James Waugh established Waugh & Co., a hardware store which soon became known as one of the most popular stores in all of Sebastian County because it sold guns and other firearm related items such as Ammunition and shot cases etc.. The store also served as a meeting place for local farmers and hunters who would come to shop at Waugh’s Shop during their off season months when there were no customers at home! From this period until 1957, Waugh’s Store was responsible for manufacturing over 1,500 pistols alone! A few years later (1851), Captain John Beattie purchased Capt JWugh’s interest in Waugh’s Store and continued to operate it under his own name until his death in 1903! In 1907 Captain Beattie partnered with Ransom Henschelmetz to form Henschelmetz & Beattie Guns & Ammunition Company Ltd., which still operates today! In 1911 Captain Beattie donated some property adjacent to his store lot (now State Road 10) to use as an armory/gun range where he stored his pistols while he conducted business elsewhere! His generosity allowed us today access to this valuable resource that has been integral to our community since then! Gun safes have been greatly impacted by various events throughout our community’s history including World War II; Hurricane Katrina; any number of natural disasters; political changes etc.. However, none have had more impact than Hurricanes Floria and Wilma! After Hurricane Floria struck central FL on September 12th 1992, many homes were destroyed or severely damaged due to flooding caused by storm surge flooding from high water levels inside coastal properties bordering Onslow Lake). Many residents sought refuge inside their homes or took cars down onto flooded street shoulders just outside city limits before leaving for safety!! Many families brought their firearms with them when they left – these are now preserved within museum collections worldwide!!! Sebastian, Florida is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. The population of Sebastian was 1,549 at the 2000 census. The town was founded in 1894 by J.T. Dooley and his family. Sebastian had a post office from 1895 to 1902 and from 1907 to 1912. In 1914, Sebastian had its first school, which was called the Spanish School and served students from Spring Hill and nearby towns. In 1916, the first church was built in Sebastian and it is now known as First Baptist Church of Sebastian. In 1923, the US Navy set up an airfield at Ernest Hemingway Field on the present-day campus of Stonington State University (now Stonington State University College) in order to provide training for fighter pilots during World War II. At that time, there were only two buildings on what is now the university's main campus: an old hangar used as a gymnasium and asmith shop; both were destroyed by fire in 1945 while being renovated for use as housing for student workers who were constructing new buildings on campus. After World War II ended, Ernest Hemingway Field became operational again as Air Force Station "Hemingway" (now Wright-Patterson AFB). In 1948, after years of discussion among local officials about whether or not to name their community after either Admiral John F Kennedy or author Mark Twain (whom they all considered one of their own), it was decided that both names would be honored simultaneously - Sebastian would become "John F Kennedy Town" while Mark Twain would be renamed "Mark Twain Town". The community saw its greatest growth during prohibition when many farmers moved into town because prohibition made farming much more profitable than without it.
