At that time, many citrus growers were located within Miami-Dade County while others grew oranges outside of its boundaries but needed transportation links between those areas and Miami so they could sell their fruit commercially or ship it into markets throughout Latin America or Europe. The official naming ceremony took place on October 17th when Lt Gov Sebald traveled to La Punta to present gifts to local leaders including Mayor Manuel Ramos y Guevara and Don José Cámpora y Valdés—a prominent local landowner—and receive their blessing for developing what would become Sebastian into a thriving citrus farming community Today’s economy revolves around agricultural production: crops such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and beeswax; seafoods such as shrimp; phosphates; manufactured goods like cars or appliances; services such as health care or accounting; tourism based on things like historical landmarks or recreated culture museums Sebastian has always been supportive of its local government both through taxes collected by ballots voted on by citizens each year as well as infrastructure programs which have included building roads (including one linking downtown with nearby Aventura), bridges (including one over Clearwater Creek), schools (which are originally Dutch Reformed) and even an ice cream store!
