On February 9, 1902, a group of men from Allensville built a shelter on a hill overlooking Satellite Beach to provide shade for local farmers during the heat of summer. That first year, they raised $3 from villagers through sales of refreshments made from sugarcane juice and ice cream Socials were held at different locations until 1902 when an ice cream factory was built on State Road 58 near Presentation Boulevard which became known as "Satellite Beach" Ice Cream Parlor on July 15th 1912 Mrs Coombs donated 50 lb (22 kg) of sugar which made it possible for Albatross Brewery Company to open up shop next door They produced soft drinks and beer In 1914 an airplane hangar was constructed by Don Chilton with plans to use it for launching rockets into space It never happened but Satellites beach did have its own V-2 rocket launch site
