Rockledge is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The incorporated town of Rockledge dates back to 1907 and was named for Admiral John F. Rock (1858-1911), USN, who served as Commander-in-Chief of the Atlantic Fleet from 1899 to 1901 and as Commandant of the Marine Corps from 1909 to 1911. Rockledge's first gun cleaning kit was created by members of the local post office in 1907. At that time, guns were cleaned with soap and water only. A later kit included a brush and bucket to clean breechblocks and barrels, which were then rinsed with water after being dried off. In 1914, a machine shop was added to the post office; this allowed for more efficient cleaning by using tools instead of hands. In 1959, Rockledge had its own police department; this began responsible policing within the community beginning with law enforcement check points located near businesses on State Road 441 between East Hwy 24th Street and Piney Point Road. In 1970, an annex was constructed adjacent to the old post office building on East Hwy 24th Street which housed additional law enforcement resources including an evidence room, jail cells and several squad cars used during investigations into crimes such as robbery or car theft within the community. A new park opened up in 1999 which became known as "The Park" due to its proximity to Interstate 495/State Road 441 - now called Central Parkway - making it one of only a few communities in Florida that has access to I-495/State Road 441 services directly from their downtown area without havingto exit onto County Rd 435 or take I-4 95 south until you reach County Rd 431 (the bypass). This made rockledge one stoplight away from all major arteries in Downtown Orlando! Today there are still many people who live here who continue using these kits for daily gun cleaning needs... even though most everyone knows about modern firearms technology now!

Buffing action helps remove oxidation and grime build-up on weapons which can cause accuracy issues downrange. The use of a rangefinder should also be considered whenBuffing; excessive rubbing will lead to ghosting or other malfunctions during shooting

Due to its location on the railroad line, Rockledge developed into an important hub for trade within Jacksonville County during the early 1900s; smuggling operations were common here due to its tight security measures. In 1907, when Jacksonville became Florida's capital city, Rockledge became one of few towns unaffected by this change (the others being Stonington). In 1911, after years of growth without any real development or progress through government regulation or investment from either party – due largely to Prohibition – JAMAICAINE LODGING COMPANY OF AMERICA GLOBAL LIMITED request that incorporation be granted so they could purchase land adjacent to their existing hotel/motel complex known as Atlantic Beach Resort which spanned over 12 acres across 2 roads at what would eventually become 300 Block of SE 4th Street today known as Coral Gables Boulevard - making it one of only 2 towns inFLORIDA ever granted incorporation status by both state legislatures concurrent with becoming "a municipality." On November 8th 1913 under formal corporate form newly created JAMAICAINE LODGING COMPANY OF AMERICA GLOBAL LIMITED acquired 12 acres adjoining their existing hotel/motel complex at 300 Block of SE 4th Street known as Coral Gables Boulevard for $1 million dollars! Upon issuance of charter number 1123 this incorporated business entity quickly erected new buildings that included: - A large multipurpose room used for dances and social events; - A women's lavatories; - A grocery store; - An employment hall where employees could get training in various trades such as plumbing etc.; - An administration building used by management including secretary treasurer public information officer etc.; numerous driveway entrances leading directly into Hotel/Motel Complex thereby making it one big open air mall! These days we can still see evidences of how successful JAMAICAINE LODGING COMPANY OF AMERICA GLOBAL LIMITED was back then including: original hardwood floors left visible throughout Lobby Level corridors leading up To Ballroom Floor areas now filled with Ceramic Tile reflecting History & Present day use; Original marble fireplace mantel complete with wood burning grate still extant today residing atop mantle not accessible from Lobby Level corridor anymore

In 1954, when Duval County merged into Jacksonville COUNTY, Rockledge became one of its five townships; it continued to be self-sufficient until 1991 when it joined forces with other villages within Jacksonville to form the city of Jacksonville proper. The economy has changed dramatically since then:rockledge now produces high-value crops such as corn and soybeans that are used for ethanol production or livestock feed; aluminum manufacturing gave way to petrochemical production beginning in the early 21st century; while some light industrial businesses have continued to operate throughout this period (e.g., some home builders), most businesses have exited since 2000 due principally to economic recessionary conditions across much of Florida statewide
