Rockledge is a small town in Polk County, Florida, located about 25 miles east of Tampa. The population was 5,584 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan area and is home to Hillsborough Community College. The first airguns were developed in Rockledge during World War I by members of the Armed Forces Air Service Club. In 1925, Captain Mervyn Hargrave started a gunsmithing business in Rockledge and began manufacturing airguns. After World War II, airguns became more popular as they became less expensive and easier to own than firearms using traditional methods such as powder shooting or muzzleloading. In the early 1970s, American Outdoor Brands (AOBC) began producing firearms under the name "Hells地帶" (Heaven's Wings). The company continued to produce airguns until it merged with Canadian Arms Corporation in 1998. At that time, AOBC drew its products mostly from Canada while Canadian Arms produced most of the ammunition for American Outdoor Brands' guns.

Callahan founded the Airgun Manufacturing Company, which manufactured pistols and rifles under the name of “Callahan Arms Corporation.” The company was acquired by Browning in 1959, and the name was changed to Browning Firearms Incorporated. After World War II, many people moved to Rockledge from Miami and other areas of Florida for jobs in engineering or manufacturing related fields. These people brought their own guns with them when they moved into town, and some of these old guns still exist today inRockledge!
Rockledge is a small, unincorporated community in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,291 at the 2000 census. It is located on State Road 441 north of Tampa. The area that now makes up Rockledge was first settled by pioneers from Georgia in the late 1800s. By 1906, the community had developed into two small stores and a few homes. In 1912, the railroad arrived and soon rockledge became an important stop on the train line between Tampa and Jacksonville. At its peak in the 1920s, Rockledge had around 100 residents and two churches. However, during World War II many of Rockledge's residents served in military roles including as postal workers and drivers for truckloads of munitions being shipped to outlets around the world. After the war ended, many residents decided to move away from their former town while others continued to live there through agricultural pursuits such as corn farming or poultry raising until it fell out of use as a mining center in the early 1970s. Today Rockledge is a historic reminder of its past with several businesses remaining open along with some unique features like its own post office which has been open since 1915 (although it no longer uses ZIP codes). Additionally there are three schools within walking distance: one public school operated by Polk County Schools; one private K-12 school operated by Stone Ridge School District; and one religious academy run by First Baptist Church.

Rockledge is a town in Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1892 by Scottish immigrants who named it after the village of Rocklawn in Scotland. It is located on U.S. Route 2 and ZIP Code 32734. The first settler in what is now Rockledge was John McLaren who arrived there with his family in 1892 from Glasgow, Scotland. He started a store and post office and soon started to build a house on the corner of US 2 and Indian Creek Road which he named "McLaren's". By 1897, the original home had been replaced by a larger one which still stands today as part of the town center. In 1907, local ranchers James Blythe (1859-1925) and WALTER DAVIS (1867-1945) donated land to form what would become Parkland Park which included much of what is now Rockledge including present day Second Street and Prospect Avenue as well as some of Bridgeport Road/McLaren's Store complex where most of the early development took place. In 1912 they also donated land for an agricultural park that includes present day Old Fort Hill Cemetery and part of what became First Street today. It wasn't until 1949 when ROCKLADE SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 was organized when all of Dade County were joining together to provide education for their citizens not just those living inDade City or Miami Beach but all across Dade County through school districts! That same year, we celebrated our centennial with our first ever Mark Twain Prize Contest! We received 3 submissions - one from each community within our district! A few years later in 1957 we added another building to our school district - Our Lady Of The Lake High School! This new addition allowed us to offer more than just education; it also gave us space to grow into something really special...a community! With every new addition we made to our school district like Our Lady Of TheLake High School we updated our name - this time becoming ROCKLADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE! And so it continued…our community growing bigger each year until finally reaching its current size – 1,521 residents strong – thanks largely to your support over the years!
In 1884, Rockledge was founded as a small town by citrus farmers. It became an important agricultural center during the early years of the 20th century, and developed into a major regional commercial center. The community experienced significant growth in the late 19th century and early 20th century, thanks to its location on a major military base and its access to transportation and trade routes. In the 1930s, Rockledge experienced significant decline as a result of factors such as increased agricultural production and population growth in nearby Tallahassee. However, it has since regained some of its former prosperity through initiatives such as development of new businesses and renovation of older properties.
