The history of airguns in Punta Gorda, Florida began with the first airgun use in the area on October 15th, 1896. A Mr. Jameson used a shotgun to shoot an apple off a tree in his backyard. By 1957 however, microjet pistols had been replaced by modern semiautomatic rifles which are still widely used today by both law enforcement personnel and recreational shooters alike!!
