In 1905, John Pugh bought remainder of Crouse's land and named it after himself, later becoming Pinellas County's first county commissioner. A post office called Pinellas Park was established on October 15th, 1907; it remained in operation until 1959. In 1914, the Stroud family acquired 4 acres (2 ha) of what would become the town center of Clearwater from Kaufman Brothers Incorporated for $25 per acre ($ today). Clearwater developed quickly as a citrus fruit packing and shipping town with over 100 small businesses dotting its streetscape by 1922 when Interstate 95 bypassed it to enterpinella park via UF Highway 98. By 1926 there were more than 350 residential buildings along US-1/SR-9/US-4/State Road 904 with a total population of 16,000 peoplegrowth that continued until 1949 when Clearwater’s boundaries were redefined as they are now known while Saint Petersburg expanded into much of what became Pinellas Park including some homes built before then like Champions Pointe along State Road 904 which still stands today outside the city limits but within St Petersburg city limits in unincorporated Pinellas Park

In 1845, Pinellas Park was named after Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The park was created as a result of a land donation from Commodore John Rodgers and his wife, Julia Lawes Rogers. It became an incorporated municipality on November 3, 1865. On December 13, 1888, Pinellas Park annexed Clearwater City to its municipal boundaries. In 1912, Pinellas Park changed its name to Tampa Bay Area after being designated as one of ten counties in Florida that were made up of areas formerly belonging to Hillsborough County and St Petersburg County.
