In Pinellas Park, Florida sits the world's largest scoped hunting preserve. The preserve is home to over 2,000 acres of woodlands and country that are perfect for deer, turkey, and other game animals. In 1977, several developers bought up all but one block north of Clearwater Mall and started building high-rise apartments which remain today as part of Sarasota's oldest shopping district – Prospect Place Shopping Center (the original name for Clearwater Mall). As development continued to occur throughout Downtown Sarasota – with new apartment buildings being erected along Hillsborough Street between North Road and Live Oak Boulevard – residents began moving away from Pinellass Park to make way for them. Today, only about 20% remain within its borders; most have chosen to move away altogether or commute to nearby towns or cities such as Tampa or St Petersburg. After World War I the town grew even more as refugees from Europe settled in the area. In 1925, Pinellas Park became an independent city and developed into one of Florida's wealthiest communities with well-maintained homes and a large downtown district. The post office closed in 1961 but the downtown district has continued to grow since then with new businesses opening up all along State Street. Today Pinellas Park is known for its rich cultural history and popular tourist attractions such as its amusement park, golf course and beachfront park.

Pinellas Park is located in the city of Clearwater, Florida. The park was created on November 3, 1892 as a small piece of land east of the Intracoastal Waterway. It served as a Recreational and Hunting Ground for the residents of the city until it was donated to Clearwater by Mrs. Alice A. Kirkpatrick on October 2, 1907. On that date, Pinellas Park became part of Clearwater Township and was renamed Pinellas County Park on December 1st, 1907. The first official game played in Pinellas Park was a baseball game between Clearwater High School and Stonington High School on April 25th, 1893
