Gun targets have been a part of Pinellas Park, Florida for over a century. The first target was placed in the park in 1892. At that time, the land where Pinellas Park now stands was part of what is now Clearwater County. On July 4th, 1898, the first electric gun range opened in Pinellas Park and operated by G. W. Moffitt and Company. It was located on the east side of Euclid Avenue just north of International Drive. From 1912 to 1916, target ranges were located on the west side of Euclid Avenue between State Road 41 and International Drive. Theodore Roosevelt dedicated a rifle range at Pinellas Park in 1923 and it remained operational until 1981 when it was replaced by an all-purpose range which currently houses several sport shooter venues as well as a number of airsoft guns used for training purposes only. In addition to its role as a shooting ground for members of the public, Pinellas Park also served as home to two military artillery batteries during World War II (the 1st Special Service Squadron from 1945 to 1947) and has hosted numerous types of national events including three Presidents’ inaugurations (Ulysses S Grant in 1865; Franklin D Roosevelt in 1933; Harry Truman in 1953). In 2003, one lessgunline Target Group LLC announced plans to lease space within Pinellas Park's fairgrounds for their own shooting range which would open fall 2004 with Classes A through C firearms ONLY! This past year saw renewed interest from both people who love target shooting as well as businesses who may find an unused lot or garage available for lease near their business premises? In 1957, another ordinance was passed which allowed handgun ownership by those who met certain requirements such as being a resident of Pinellas Park for at least 6 months per year and owning a rifle or shotgun that could be used in self-defense only if it is registered with the police department. On July 1st, 1980, Amendment 5 to the Florida Constitution became effective which amended Section 910A of Title 7 of the State Statutes to allow concealed carry with A license holders statewide

On October 14th of that year Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers commanded 3rd U.S Infantry Regiment during Seminole Wars against Seminoles led by Bowe Bergdahl under false pretenses that he had captured two Seminole chiefs named Tallahasee & Xalatae who were then being held as hostages by their respective clansmen with intent to ransom them back into submission or purchase their release at high prices. After almost three months long siege which resulted in only one casualty due to illness among over 1,500 men garrisoned within Fort Myers, Rogers relieved his commanding officer after finding out that they were not actually captives but rather slaves taken from Cuba during American Revolutionary War era until finally freed by Spain following her victory over America at Battle of Ponce de Leon on July 8th,1829 In 1840 Jacksonville entrepreneur Augustus Chapman bought 640 acres (258 ha) along Clearwater Lagoon shoreline east of present day University Boulevard for $1 million dollars cash plus 400 horses and 10% interest on future sales On December 12th 1840 Jacksonville Mayor Jno Hadeges convened a meeting with twelve citizens including Chapman to discuss buildingaji commercial wharf / harbor around current site where present day University Boulevard meets Gulf Boulevard . The participants agreed that there could be no public buildings until private enterprise could build them and Jarvis donated land for wharf/harbor purposes making Pinellas Park one of first planned cities ever created within Americas boundaries Chapman began construction on "The Wharf" which would later become known as "Pinellas Park". On January 17th 1841 City Council approved plans for a two story wooden lighthouse – originally called Lighthouse #4 – to be built adjacent to municipal wharf/harborfront . Completed just four weeks after it launch City Council passed Resolution authorizing Member Banks Street Railway Company Limited (later known as Tampa Bay Railways) To Construct And Operate An electric Light House At Present Location Of Lighthouse And Cause All Streets Within Cit
