In 1849, Andrew Jackson purchased from Ladd 1/4 mile of what would eventually become Pinellas Park. In 1892, local druggist Dr. J.C. Post opened a general store on East Gulf Boulevard near where US 1 meets St Pete Beach Boulevard today. Today it is still called Post's Pharmacy and offers health services including family planning counseling and obstetric care to residents of Pinellas Park and Hillsborough County as well as to people throughout Tampa Bay area!

The first settlers were members of the Seminole Tribe who arrived in what is now Pinellas Park in 1892. New Port Richey was founded by Captain John A. Stroud with his family on November 25, 1892 as an inland port for trading goods with Native American tribes near Tampa Bay. On December 12, 1893, New Port Richey became a full village under the leadership of Mayor Stephen Wills Sr., and later Congressman James P. Steele. In 1896, Captain John A. Stroud donated land to Pinellas Park which became its original name: "New Port Richey". In 1930, after years of planning and construction by many local residents and community groups including the Pinellas Park Improvement Association (PPIA), Fort Myers Beach Boulevard was officially dedicated as State Road 498 within Section 9E Township 3 South Range 8 West when that section of Hillsborough County was added to Florida statehood on May 7th, 1932 On July 1st 1907 Hurricane Andrew struck Key Largo destroying most homes along Gulf Street between US 27 and US 41A west of downtown Key Largo; damage also occurred to businesses along Gulf Street between US 27A and SR 498 east of downtown Key Largo . However no people died or were injured from this storm due to lack of sheltering supplies or infrastructure pre-existing at that time within our community remnants from Andrew remain buried today within Sections 9E Township 3 South Range 8 West School District #2 Building located adjacent I-95 exit ramp south (west) off CR 498 approximately 150 feet east side closest to shoreline

On December 15, 1928, Pinellas Park incorporated as a town under the name of Clearwater Beach. On December 14, 1949 Pinellas Park incorporated as a city with its own mayor and City Council after three months of referendum vote by residents of both towns over an issue of whether to become cities or continue to be towns with their own councils
