The area that would become Pinellas Park was first settled by Seminole Indians in the early 1800s. Pinellas Park was created in 1884 as part of the Tampa Bay area, and was one of the original towns in the county. The park is a census-designated place (CDP) and has a population of over 20,000 people. It is home to several major league teams, including the Tampa Bay Rays, who are based in St. Petersburg.
