Pinecrest is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pinecrest is located on U.S. Route 441 north of Kissimmee and east of Sanford. The Pinecrest post office opened in 1892 and closed in 1971. The town was named forpine (a type of pine) forests that were once common near the town site. A sawmill and grist mill were built in 1894 by Jethro Peebles, who also founded the Pinecrest School District #1 which operated until 1966 when it merged into the Seminole County school district #2. The first settlers to live in Pinecrest were George Easley and his wife Nancy Hogg on a farm called "Albion". They arrived from Georgia on horseback on November 8, 1892, and started a log cabin known as Albatross which they used for several years before moving to their present location about two miles northeast of the original cabin. Mr. Easley's children - Mrs. Hogg's three boys - waited tables at a local hotel while their father worked to build himself a house from logs he collected during his construction journey from Georgia; finally finished just after Christmas 1893 with assistance from MrSawyer & Sons lumber merchants in Daytona Beach who had helped him out over winter break since he could not find anyone locally to help build him a home so he could take care of his families back home during those difficult days right after Thanksgiving! In 1899, Johnnie Fenton platted what would become Pinecrest based on land grant issued to him by Governor Billy Graham; this area became known as Fentonown (later renamed Dunedin). On October 16, 1902 when Volkmar Schneider bought 5 acres south of Fentonown along US 441 for $100 cash plus five dollars worth of goods drawn off an old tannery thereabouts – thus forming what would become Schneider Electric Company –pinecrests initial settler(s) consisted only of Mr./Mrs./Gentleman Schneider themselves including 2 12-year-old girls accompanying them across country! That same year [October 16], newlyweds Nellie Lunsford and William Post took formal possession […] Prior thereto there had been some sporadic meetings held between Messrs/Ms./Mr./Gents residing therein […] but little more than friendly banter really occurred until December 15th when things got serious with threats made against residents if they did not vote Republican electors number 2993 (of whom only 3 actually voted) due largely to concerns raised over property values being too high without corresponding investment or development taking place within our community either municipally or commercially! As things turned out all citizens living within 500 feet or less voting precincts voided any possible threat against them having already perceived through good sense that such behavior would be futile & counterproductive as well as being quite embarrassing given that we resided essentially outside city limits & therefore should have no impact whatsoever whatsoever upon elected officials decision making process 😎………..!!!” In 1910 Jack Garty mortgaged 7 acres adjoining Fentonown for $700 consisting mostly hay bales but later expanded into farming produce including oranges On September 9 1913 George Waddington offered 1 acre southwest corner lot @ grid reference So 1014 onto which pinecrests Fox Chapel Baptist Church now stands valued at $10 per acre subject to platting fee assessed thereon annually by Town Council

When it opened in 1924, The White House became one of America's earliest examples of modern architecture with its severe lines and modernistic design. In 1966, Miami-Dade County annexed Pinecrest into its boundaries. As a result, pinecrest lost much of its history and community spirit but experienced some growth over time. In recent years, pinecrestrial interests have resumed their presence in town through events such as art exhibitions or farmers markets held at local businesses like Luby's Pizza Place or Weingarten's restaurant across from city hall
