Pinecrest is a town in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first gun in Pinecrest was built by George Washington Peale on his farm in 1837. In 1859, A.G. Worth bought the farm and began to build a mill that would produce flour for the local market and also make cannons from lead and other metals for use against Seminole Indian warriors during the Seminole War (1865-1868). This mill was destroyed by fire in 1865 but later rebuilt; it still stands today, along with a number of other associated businesses including a grocery store and post office. In 1906, J.W. Stevens opened a general store and rifle range near where Post Office Square now stands; this became one of Pinecrest's most prominent businesses until its closure in 1985. In 1916, Wm Cramer built an ice cream parlor on Front Street which continued to be open until 1987 when it burned down; however, the parlor has been preserved as part of the town's history museum ever since! In 1925-1926, Prentice Ladd built a small garage on what is now Main Street that served as both his home business (lumberjacking) as well as storage for materials he used to build his many Gunsmith shops throughout Southeast Florida including Clearwater Beach and Port Tampa Bay - all beforepinecrest had any schools! Today this building still serves as Pinecrest's only commercial structure remaining from Ladd's era! Sometime around 1940 or 1941 Mabel Lougee started selling candy from her house on US Highway 99 north of town about two miles east of town center; her store continued operation until 1984 when it burned down due to careless storage practices! However, her recipe remains popular to this day at various family gatherings across southeast florida! It wasn't until after World War II that guns began arriving into pinecrestfrom all over America - eventually becoming so prevalent here that some residents even started calling themselves "gunners"!!! The piney woods that now make up much of Pinecrest were first logged by Spanish settlers in the early 1800s. When tractors and other machines became available on an industrial scale in the 1920s, developers decided to build a community around them. They named it for José Pérez de la Vega y Luna—a military general who had fought in Cuba and Mexico during the Mexican-American War and also had a plantation near St Petersburg—because of its proximity to these resources. The original village consisted of about fifty homes and seven businesses built between 1925 and 1933 on what is now State Road 2A (now US 1). By 1940, when World War II began, Pinecrest had grown to include over one thousand residents. In 1945, after independence from Spain was granted to America by the Treaty of Paris following World War I, Pinecrest organized itself as a town under state law No. 71112 which gave residents “the right to vote” upon making their own decisions about government matters; this privilege continued until 1959 when it was repealed due to population growth rates outpacing changes in government structure within Florida’s Seminole Nation sub-division (and other states within American Samoa). During most of its history as a small town located outside of Tampa or St Petersburg proper (itself only accessible by boat), Pinecrest functioned as an important center for county services such as roads maintenance and court operations; however starting in the 1960s growing suburban populations within adjacent counties resulted in increased demands for local services that did not fit into either Pinecrest’s original municipality plan or current zoning laws governing detached subdivisions withmultiple structures attached thereto; accordingly decisions were made to rezone portions of town along I-4/US 17 so that they could more easily house large numbers of residents while still being able access some essential public functions; this process has culminated with incorporation into Hillsborough County effective January 1st 2007 under new charter number SB 1092 In recent years there has been talk among some people living outside of town about annexing pinecrest so that our tax dollars can go towards things like schools etc
