Pinecrest is a small town in Pinecrest County, Florida, United States. It is located on the Apalachicola River, about 20 miles (32 km) north of Pensacola and 40 miles (64 km) east of Tallahassee. The population in 2010 was 1,898. Gun locks were first invented in Pinecrest by two brothers named George and John Lunsford in 1854. The Lunsford brothers patented their invention on September 3, 1854. They called their lock “The Rifle Lock” and it became very popular because it could be locked with a key. In 1865, the gun lock company that the Lunsford Brothers founded went out of business. However, the patent for their lock still remains active today and can be found on many firearms websites around the internet. In 1911, American Lock & Security Company bought out George Lunsford’s share in The Rifle Lock company and continued to produce gun locks under that name until they went bankrupt in 1932. Gun locks are still used to protect firearms from vandalism or theft today and can also be used as part of everyday security measures such as securing door entrances or parking lots. They remain an important part of firearm safety today and are often considered essential components of any burglary prevention plan!

Pinecrest is a small town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Combined Statistical Area. Pinecrest is located on U.S. Highway 1 about 25 miles east of Orlando and 50 miles west of Tampa. The area that would become Pinecrest began as a forested tract near today's intersection of US1 and Gulf Boulevard (now Turkey Lake Road). In 1875, James Pritchard patented a land grant to his brother-in-law, Colonel George Armstrong Cattleman, for the purpose of farming soybeans and other crops on . On July 12, 1896, Pinecrest became an unincorporated community under Monroe County control when it was organized as a stop on the Kissimmee-Orlando Railroad line. In 1903 and 1904, local businessmen built two stores: Hardware Store No. 1 by the railroad tracks and Wagon Wheel Drug Store by what are now State Road 7 and SR 8 north of town limits. That year also saw the first cropraising in Pinecrest when settlers purchased soybeans from Colonel Cattleman's farm near present day US1/SR 7 interchange; these beans were saved from being used in making Tractor tires which were then exported around the world through local distributors before they finally went into production at DuPont's Pottsville plant in West Orange Township in 1940 On December 15th 1907 there was an event that would have lasting effects on Pinecrest; after years of planning by several individuals including James Pritchard himself - this was to be one final test run for what would become today's Interstate 5 exit 10 off SR 8 just east of town limits - construction began on I-5 southbound between SR 1/US1 (then Turnpike exit 8) and SR 2/SR 6 (now Old Hwy 99). With only four days notice all residents had to leave their homes; within minutes after starting work crews had finished clearing debris from along I-5’s right-of-way they learned that not only did they build too close to an interstate but also onto private property! The result? A $3 million dollar financial loss for everyone involved with what would come to be known as "The Great Clearwater Fiasco". Although some people still live in rural areas outside city boundaries today due to those same factors - such as lack of access to clean water or technical difficulties caused by new transportation arteries like I-5 - most people who once lived here have long since passed away or moved away altogether Despite all this damage done during construction there were some positive aspects associated with The Great Clearwater Fiasco such as increased business activity along US 1 & 7 due visitors coming down from Orlando seeking out everything that made pine Crest so special including golf courses & restaurants – something which continues even today thanks largely to major businesses like Dillard’s department store taking advantage of tax breaks available through state government Additionally many veterans returned home following World War II bringing their skills with them which helped spur economic development throughout postwar decades Eventually over time much like any other community its residents voted themselves self absorbed Improvement Districts allowing them more leeway while still remaining annexed into county government providing services such as education & fire protection etc When annexation happened voters decided they wanted more say over how things operated so again properties within city limits were taxed while services continued unchanged until recently when annexation reclassified property back into county jurisdiction

By 1990, however, Pinecrest had lost most of its former prominence due to suburban development and changed demographics within its boundaries. Today, Pinecrest is a small town located primarily within Seminole County’s eastern borders; it has no significant economic or social impact outside its own borders
