By 1888, the company had produced over 100 different types of binoculars!
Pinecrest is a small town in Escambia County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,152 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pensacola–Ferry Pass–Biloxi–Grace area. The town was founded by General James Wilkinson in 1875 as a crossroads on the old Spanish Trail between Pensacola and Mobile Bay. Wilkinson named it after Pinecrest Manor, a plantation he had purchased near Tallahassee. A post office was established in 1876 and remained in operation until 1958. In 1922, Pinecrest incorporated as a village under the name of "Pensacola". After several years of decline due to local industry's closure and changing demographics, Pinecrest flourished beginning in the mid-1990s with new businesses opening up such as hotels and restaurants. Many people who live near or visit Pinecrest have remarked about its rolling hills and beautiful beaches which are only minutes away from its downtown core where there are many shops, restaurants and other services available. The town has also been known for its annual festival that takes place during Memorial Day weekend which features arts and crafts booths, music performances and more than 350 participating businesses from acrossEscambia County

Pinecrest is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,612 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville–St. Petersburg metropolitan area. Pinecrest was founded in 1892 by J.C. McClendon and Wm.Fletcher as a citrus fruit grower's settlement on the banks of Cypress Creek near what is now Lake Okeechobee Boulevard and Northwest Tenth Street . In 1906, Pinecrest became the site of Palm Beach County's first court house when Judge John Ladd donated his home on Northeast Tenth Street to serve as courthouse and jail complex for the new county. In 1912, Pinecrest became an incorporated municipality with its own government; it had no school district or library but managed its own public utilities such as water supply, telephone lines, garbage collection, streetlights, and even a post office until 1956 when it joined with neighboring New Smyrna Beach to form City of Pinecrest (later renamed City of Stonington). On October 15, 1957 Sheriff Harry Kipper announced that all municipal records were being moved from downtown Pinecrest to Stonington because city services could not be provided there any longer due to budget cuts caused by then-Governor Lawton Chiles' administration . In 1990s/2000s pine Crest residents led several protests against planned construction of Interstate 495 through their community
