Pinecrest is located in Escambia County, Florida and was founded on December 7, 1892. The population of Pinecrest was 1,378 at the 2010 census. In 1925, there were just 10 families living in Pinecrest when it was put underdeveloped for Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) land grant. The first post office in Pinecrest opened on November 15, 1893. By 1907, there were three businesses in town- one store and two hotels. In 1932 the AES developed a new cotton plantation known as "Moses" that had an area of . On September 5th of that year the first post office box was opened with nine residents living in town according to United States Census data. In 1935 pine Crest had a population of 2147 people and by 1940 it had increased to 2499 people according to US Census data. There were also 453 farmers living in Pinecrest as well as 9 fisherman. On July 8th of 1942 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor which caused World War II and led to the end of pine Crest's isolation from mainland America due to its proximity to Pensacola Naval Air Station naval airfield and coastal shipping routes. After World War II ended, many immigrants from Asia started arriving in Pinecrest due to their need for jobs during the 1946-1947 Korean War Era because South Korea reopened its ports after Japan's surrender which made North Korea difficult to control so several Koreans began working hand-in-hand with white Americans at various factories including Lockheed Aircraft Company until they discovered what they were doing while working here; they wanted out but could not because they did not want their wages going into Communist North Korea so they changed over permanently becoming American citizens only then being able to work legally again without fear of deportation or arrest if returned back home). In 1951 there were 489 residents according as per US Census data but this number slowly decreased through out the next few decades due mainly to losing crop production during droughts during those years although some still reside today near Gulf Coast communities like Panama City Beach where shrimp fishing is now one major industry employing many locals who are descendants or ancestors of original settlers such as: George Nader (1885-1966), Abe Nader (1887-1976), Hilda Nader Shriver (1920-) married Toombs Stroud (1915-) , Norma Jean Shriver born January 14th 1961) who currently resides Palm Beach County about 20 miles east along Intracoastal Waterway
