The first handgun magazine business in Pensacola was Pomp and Circumstance Armory which opened on May 10, 1899. The first shotgun magazine business was Brown & Williamson Shotguns which opened on February 6, 1901. In 1907, G&H Magazines Incorporated was formed with the goal of manufacturing and selling firearms magazines throughout Florida including Pensacola. In 1912 G&HMAG began marketing its own pistols as well as rifles and shotguns through private sales and store openings only within the state of Florida. By 1922 G&HMAG had moved their entire factory to Fort Myers BeachFlorida where they continued to produce firearms magazines until 1949 when they merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester) becoming Winchester-American Rifle Company Incorporated (WAR).

For many years thereafter English traders called this location "Isla Santa Catalina". Spanish missionaries began arriving to Mobile County in 1763 and founded Mission San Fernando Rey de las Palmas de los Padres loco el Presbiterio (St Augustine's Parish). On July 4, 1832, during Mexican–American War (1846–1848), General Antonio López de la Madrid organized a force of 3rd US Infantry Regiment under Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer to attack Fort Moultrie on Mobile Bay for control of trade with Mexico City through Tampa Bay. After a bloody battle lasting several days near Point San Pedro Light House northwest of present-day Pensacola Beach, Custer's unit lost 350 men killed or wounded as compared to Mexican forces' only 20 dead and 30 wounded. Custer later wrote: "this action singlehanded saved our country from certain destruction." In 1875 Secretary of War John Sherman issued Order No. 12 which moved Ulysses S Grant's army from Chattanooga to Jacksonville Landing in Alabama for its campaign against Confederate General Robert Ewell's army commanded by Lt.-General Pickettemberg; however Ulysses S., Jr.'s brother-in-law Arthur Pryor served as acting Commanding Officer during their stay at Camp Pickettemberg until Sherman arrived with his own forces late that night on December 15th whereupon Pryor became permanent Commander until November 27th when he orders Sherman finally leave picketts Landing for good due to reports that Ewell had been reinforced by General Johnston's Army under Jubal Early Advance Westward movement order No NP 002 dated 11/29/1871 The land south of mouth Of Everglades River was purchased from Spanish owners by Seminole Tribe led by Chief Osceola about 1800 A full century before white man landed here
In 1837, Pensacola was founded by Spanish explorers on the Florida Peninsula. The city's name comes from the Potawatomi word "Pensacola," meaning "a place where there is a large stream." It became an important seaport for theWFAA of Pensacola Bay and its surrounding area, and prospered as a fishing and agricultural center. The land that now makes up Pensacola was first used for hunting and then cultivation. A small community developed in what is now downtown Pensacola around 1795, when Major James Robertson built his plantation here. In 1821, President James K. Polk sent General Pedro de Galvez with orders to establish a military post at Pensacola Bay. The site chosen for the post was within sight of modern-day downtown Pensacola but on a neck of land between two rivers. Galvez's Post cost $4,000 to build and served as the seed for future growth in Pensacola. He named it Fort Moultrie after British general Sir John Moultrie who had helped lead the American Revolution in nearby Mobile County. The fort served as Headquarters of Department XII ( Siege & Garrison) during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). After Mexican independence was declared on December 22, 1847, FtMoultrie reverted back to U.S. control under Military Order No 598/1 dated January 2, 1848 which renamed it Fort Brooke until October 14th of that year when it reverted back to its original designation: Fort Moultrie
