On December 6th 1924 an act entitled An Act to Provide for certainitation of Citizens within said Countyitted Escambia County named James Ewing Poston as Sheriff ofEscambia County after his election as sheriff on November 3rd 1923 and effective upon his filing thereof with qualified electors free from any influence or connivance whatever with organized crime being thereby prohibited
