By 1930 there were only 10 black residents living in Parkland out of a total population of 30+. In 1945 two local businesses combined – Jardine's Florists andBP Supply – to form BP&J grocery store which remains one of the few stores remaining from that time period still operational today. In 1965, when Broward County was created from parts of Palm Beach and Miami counties, Parkland became one of its original communities within that new county. At that time it had a population of 721 people with just 16 residences (out of 54 total). Increased development around town led to increased growth throughout Broward County but especially so at Parklands core; this included much more housing than had ever been built before including single-family homes dating back to the early 1920s when parklands primary industry was boatbuilding/repair work on nearby Clearwater Lake%. Townspeople continue to own most property within downtown limits as well as most other residential areas outside of main business districts such as Lakeside Drive and Overlook Drive where much modern day retail has taken place over the years including some large chain stores like Macy's and Sears while also retaining many historic buildings such as BankAtlantic Plaza which has served both commercial and civic functions for more than 50 years now!
