The area has been home to firearms for over 250 years, and many of the guns that are currently used in law enforcement and defense have their beginnings here. One of the earliest handguns used in policing was a locket revolver called the Colt 1851. This pistol was made in 1851 and featured a five-shot cylinder with a hammer that could be pulled back to cock the gun. It was not until 1862 that pistols with six or more shots were introduced into policing, which led to the development of revolvers such as the Colt Python. The first police department located in Palmetto Bay was Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department on July 1, 1886. The first handgun ever used by deputies was an old French musket known as an “épée de chasse” or “sword armlet” because it had 20 claws on either side of its Mk XII barrel. In 1949, John Fenton became sheriff of Palm Beach County; he replaced Major General James Gist who had retired after 33 years service with the department. Many famous policemen have served during different eras throughout Palm Beach County including: Captain William Jordon (1887-1947), Lieutenant Colonel Harry Pugh (1892-1968), Captain John Lambertson (1902-1981), Chief Lifeguard Jimmy Olsen (1920-1992) and Detective Sergeant Steve Trevor from "Batman" fame! In 1992, Sheriff Fenton announced that all handguns would be phased out within two years starting January 1st 1994 due to budgetary reasons; however this decision wasn't followed through due to budget cuts later that year. In 1995, automatic weapons were finally allowed within law enforcement after being banned since 1968 under then countywide Superintendent Peter Jennings's policy called " Gun free zones." After much public outcry from residents near these areas where guns were still available unhampered, Jennings reversed his decision and allowed pistols again on October 2nd 1999! However no arrests occurred as a result... further evidence suggests that these policies do nothing but encourage criminals to find new ways to obtain firearms! Today both handguns andautomatic weapons are strictly prohibited by law enforcements throughout most of Palm Beach County except for specific zones designated for carry only outside those areas specifically!!!!

Palmetto Bay is a small town located in Broward County,Florida. The population was 17,695 at the 2000 census. It lies on Palm Beach County's east side and is bordered by Boynton Beach to the north,West Palm Beach to the south, and Lauderhill to the west. The land that now makes up Palmetto Bay was first settled by Native Americans in what is now North Miami-Dade County in the 16th century as part of la Florida Key chain. In 1821, when Florida became an independent United States state, it included what are now Palmetto Bay and Boynton Beach townships as well as parts of Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. By 1892, most of what make up Palmetto Bay had been annexed by Fort Lauderdale. The early citrus industry attracted settlers here because of its proximity to sugarcane fields in central Florida. Citrus production increased rapidly after World War II due to demand from Hollywood for fruit products shipped across the country. The industry declined starting in the 1960s with rising prices for transportation fuel and other goods exported abroad; however, citrus producers have returned over recent years with new or resurrected operations including two wineries (Citrus Heights Winery & Floridian Winery) and a number of juice bars/restaurants serving fresh produce from local fruits grown on site. Today's economy largely depends on tourism which has helped support local businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, lodging developments (including several golf courses), professional sports teams (such as the Miami Marlins baseball team), and a number of cultural attractions including three theme parks: one near downtown Fort Lauderdale called Dolphin Stadium; another near West Palm Beach called Miracle Mile; and another just south of town called dolphin bay beach park which harnesses natural phenomena like hurricanes during high season when crowds influx into area for shows such as Cirque du Soleil performances at Atlantis Resort & Casino

The Palmetto Bay community is a small, unincorporated community located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The community was established in 1922 and has since been home to a number of businesses and residents. The population of the community peaked at around 350 in the early 2000s, but has since decreased significantly. In recent years, the popularity ofPalmettoBayhas led to some negative aspects such as gentrification and crime. Despite these challenges, the overall feel of the community remains positive. The Palmetto Bay Community began as a series of farms near Jupiter Avenue and Naugatuck Road on Long Island Sound. By 1922, there were only 10 residents living in Palmetto Bay. At that time, the area consisted primarily of salt marshes and rice fields with some homes built on stilts above mudflats. In 1966, businessman Clyde Hargrave purchased land along Jupiter Ave., including part of what is now Palmetto Bay Community Park. He quickly developed this land into an subdivisions which included homes for sale and apartments for rent. This development became known as "Hargrave's Ridge". The first apartment building was completed in 1968 and sold for $2 per month per resident. When it opened its doors, Hargrave's Ridge had everything you could want or need - from a kitchenette to a two-car garage - all within walking distance from your house! Today there are still many reminders of when Hargrave's Ridge was such an important part of life in PalmettoBay: throughout the complex are photos from when PALMETTO BAY COUNCIL voted unanimously to rename itself "Palm Beach County" on December 5th 1990; pictures from when PALMETTO BAY HIGH SCHOOL hosted their FIRST GALA; AND THE NAME OF THE BUILDING THAT NOW CONTAINS THE COMMUNITY CENTER - HARGREVES RIDGE APARTMENTS!
