Gun control laws may work against criminals by making it difficult for them to get hold of firearms (and by extension our money), but they don't seem to Work against anyone who wants to harm us with impunity - especially assailants who know how easy it is for someone with access to a weapon to end your life quickly.

palm coast, florida is a small town in panama county located on the estuary of the Kissimmee River. The population was 5,636 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metropolitan area. Palm Coast is named after two Spanish explorers who found it in 1697 and 1703 respectively. The name means "the headland" or "Island of palms." Palm Coast's economy depends largely on tourism which has been growing since it began to be appreciated for its beauty and history by visitors in the early 1900s. Today, palm oil production and other agricultural products are also important sources of income for many people here. The town was first settled by Native Americans in this area around Aachenia Creek during the late Preclassic period (4000–2000 BC). There are several archeological sites in Palm Coast that date back to this time including a prehistoric petroglyph from 300 BC and an obsidian knife from about 2100 AD known as the Ocala Dagger Site. The first European to visit Palm Coast was Pedro Menéndez de Avila who stopped there on October 15, 1565 while exploring Florida for Rodriguez de Montoya y Arellano, governor of Cuba. Menéndez de Avila observed that there were no trees or plants he had never seen before but he thought they looked like beautiful palms because they had leaves that turned red when touched. He named these new trees "palmateo." A short while later another explorer, Don Tristan Castilla set out from Tampa Bay with his army under Captain Bartholomew Burt to explore all of Florida except Cuba, arriving at Key West on February 12th, 1566. On their journey across Lake Monroe they passed through what is now Palm Coast and noted its great potential for plantation work due to its natural resources; among these were palm oil plantations established by Portuguese traders soon afterwards. In 1568 Hernando de Soto discovered Pensacola Bay and decided to move south along it rather than risk being hemmed in by Spanish territory so he expeditioned eastward over land that would become Osceola County instead – today’s Sanford County – reaching Tallahassee on January 8th, 1569 just as Domingo López de Santa Anna was making his attempt unsuccessfully to take possession of Florida from Spain via Mobile Bayou . After reaching Tallahassee López wrote: “I have come up against an obstacle more difficult than any I have yet experienced: No one knows how deep MobileBayou goes into Florida [and] even if we did discover it we could not walk past it without getting lost” . This failure marked perhaps the last time Portugal attempted anything significant inFlorida until well into 1821 when Manuel Villalobos finally succeeded where López had failed only months earlier Lopez went bankrupt shortly thereafter with most of his property confiscated but some valuable acreage ended up going uncollected again until 1838 when American businessman John Czarnecki acquired most of this loot becoming one of America's largest landowners ever During World War II much offshore housing was constructed off Palm Coast using lumber brought over from Australia which helped contribute greatly to wartime shortages elsewhere caused by rationing

The town experienced rapid growth during World War II because of its military base and importance in air transportations during that time period. However, it declined after the war ended and experienced a number of economic reverses over the years. Today, Palm Coast is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Florida due to its beautiful beaches, historical sites, art galleries, restaurants and shopping centers.
The Palm Coast area of Florida was first settled by the Arawak people in the early 1500s. They built their villages on small islands in Lake Okeechobee and used the natural resources of the area to survive. By 1800, the Arawaks were gone, replaced by African Americans. The first white settlers arrived in 1821, when Captain James Cook discovered what is now Palm Coast while exploring Australia's east coast. He named it after his home country, England. In 1846, a group of Seminoles moved from Georgia to Palm Coast and began to ranch land near Fort Myers. In 1849, they founded Fort Myers with three hundredesteads scattered around the lake and its surroundings. The town developed slowly until about 1880, when it became one of the largest inland cities in Florida.
