It was very accurate but required some time and practice to use correctly. Palm Beach Gardens is a city located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,816 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Palm Beach Gardens was first settled by men from Georgia in 1824. By 1852, it had become a town and was designated as a sectional center on the southern border of Florida. The first white settler in what is now Palm Beach Gardens was James Auld who moved to the area in 1853 from Charlestown, South Carolina. In 1865, John Hartsfield purchased 1/2 mile (3 km) of land along US-1 which became known as "Hartsfield's Strip." He named it after his friend and business associate J. P. Hartsfield Sr., who had helped him finance his earlier businesses in Mobile Bayou and St Petersburg, Alabama. In 1870, he sold 4 additional acres (16 km²) for $40 to Wm Laddsberger for use as a streetcar terminus on State Road 10A leading east to Fort Pierce Harbor and south to Titusville; Laddsberger renamed it "Ladd's Grove". In 1905, Sanford built the first home in what is now Palm Beach Gardens when he bought 5 lots near Balboa Park for $2700 from Lazarus Hubbard Sr.. At that time there were only about 100 homes built in Palm Beach Gardens out of an estimated 2200 residences statewide during that decade due largely to prohibition laws which made alcohol illegal throughout most of Florida except Miami-Dade County where it remained legal until 1933). However many residents took up property ownership following prohibition repeal so much so that by 1910 there were over 2400 properties registered with the county recorder’s office alone within 15 miles (24 km) of downtown Orlando! Buses started running into palm trees at this intersection back then called "Central Avenue" or just SW 1st Street & Balboa Park Boulevard
The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida community was founded in 1892 by J.P. Morgan, who purchased a tract of land in the area. The name was derived from the palm trees on the property and it has since been known as one of the most exclusive communities in southern Florida.
