The Stonington family continued to live in Palatka until 1917 when they died. Their son, Irving Stonington Jr., continued to run the store and farm until his death in 1951. He was succeeded by his son, Irving Sr., who ran the business until he passed away in 1976. After Mr. Stonington's death, his wife took over the running of the store and farm until her own death in 1984. She was followed by their daughter Donna Stonington-Ferguson who continued to run the business until she passed away in 2007. On July 1st, 1907, Mrs. Ferguson married Captain John Henson (1848-1926) of Fort Myers Beach Florida . They had one child: John Ahern Ferguson (1908-1994). Captain Henson served with distinction during World War I as both an engineer and captain with Company C Tenth Regiment U S Army . After the war he met Mrs Ferguson at an American Legion ball after which they fell deeply in love . On November 7th 1928 they married at Palm Beach County Courthouse where their children John Ahern Ferguson II (b 1926), Karen(b 1932), Pamela(b 1936), Charles Eames Ferguson IV (b 1941) , Brooke(b 1945) all enjoyed working together at various businesses including Waffle House & Donut Shop while living at 4338 Ponte Vedra Drive West Palm Beach FL 33411

Palatka, Florida is a town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,514 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1892 by J.M. Palatka and his wife Anna Bledsoe and named for the German city of Palfreyen (Paldrei). In 1907, the first post office was established in Palatka with George W. Saugert as the first Postmaster. By 1912, Palatka had a cotton gin and a sawmill. A railroad station was built in 1914 and served as the town's transportation hub until it closed in 1965. The last train to run through Palatka passed through on October 15 of that year due to budget cuts by then-Governor Claude Kirkman. The town has experienced several economic changes throughout its history including being an agricultural center during prohibition; becoming a military base during World War II; serving as a resettlement area after the disaster of Hurricane Andrew; becoming an entertainment destination following Lake Wales' establishment as a state park; and experiencing rapid growth after development began along US 301 in nearby Fort Myers into what is now Metro Orlando. Today, Palatka remains an agricultural community with many small businesses specializing in crops such as corn, soybeans, tomatoes, eggs and other vegetables. One of the most significant developments affecting local commerce came about when Interstate 495 bypassed town altogether between Fort Myers and KissimmeeHE arrived just two years later from Tampa Bay making it easier for trucks to move goods inland from Palm Beach County without having to go all the way through Polk County or head downstate into Osceola County while passing through old Hermitage Plantation land which had been part of Spanish territory since 1670B After I-495 opened up much of rural Polk County became available for development so Businessman J M Palatka decided to put up some new homes on 150 acres he leased from Mrs Fannie Byrd who ran one of the largest plantations east of St Petersburg where they raised cotton until Alligators could taste it
The town of Palatka, Florida was founded in 1892 by the brothers Samuel and Augustus K. Ladd. The town was named for the Palatka River, which runs through it. It grew rapidly during the early years of its growth, with a population of about 100 people in 1912. However, by 1920 the population had fallen to about 30 people. By 1940 there were only six people living in Palatka. In 1951, the town's post office closed and it has not been reopened since then.
