Ormond Beach, Florida is a small town within the Miami-Dade County area. The population was 8,611 at the 2000 census. It is located on just over two square miles and includes Ormond Beach as well as Morningside Heights and Garden City. The town began to form in the early 1800s when people who would later become known as the "Orioles" settled in what is now Ormond Beach. The Oriole name comes from an Indian word meaning "place where you can find shells." In 1881, some of these settlers founded what would become the first incorporated town in Miami-Dade County – which at that time included all of South Dade County. The original town boundaries were set by Colonel James Worthy, who also served as first mayor of Miami and later became state senator from Florida. At that time, much of what is now Ormond Beach consisted of swampy land bordered by sugar cane plantations on one side and mangroves on the other. This grazing land was important for cattle and horses because it provided fresh water resources necessary for this livestock industry. As citrus crops grew more popular in South Florida during the late 1800s, many families decided to move to Ormond Beach to enjoy this growing industry – which led to residential growth around 1906 when Captain John Galt donated his large lot near present-day Gurney Boulevard for use as a public beach park. Today, Ormond Beach's nearly 500 residents include both locals and visitors who come to enjoy its beautiful waterfront environment, wide variety of shops and restaurants, live music venues and interesting attractions such as the historical USS Constitution Museum (now part of Sun Yat Sen Park). There are also several parks available for children including Playground Park across from Harborfront Mall; Dolphin Cove Park adjacent to PGA Clubhouse Village; North Shore Aquarium; Plantation Trails paths leading away from Main Street; Anse Boulevard; Islandshire Drive; flagstone street with palm trees lining it throughout most of downtown – making it one Of Americas Most strollable local communities while still keeping much more privacy than most municipal communities with similar populations

As a result, many people had to find creative ways to carry their handguns. One solution was to use a holster that would cover the firearm's entire body. This gave people more options when it came time to go out and access their firearms.

Ormond Beach is located on the eastern coast of Florida and it has been a haven for people since ancient times. The area that now makes up Ormond Beach was first settled by the Kissimmee boy tribe in the 1700s. In 1824, General James Wilkinson established Fort Ormond at the mouth of bay which served as an impromptu military base during Seminole Wars. During this time, many notable people from Ormond Beach including Governor John Quincy Adams and President James K. Polk lived and worked here. The first store in Ormond Beach opened its doors in 1881. By 1907, there were over thirty businesses operating here along with five schools, two churches, four hotels, three stores and a post office. The population of Ormond Beach had reached over one thousand by 1915 but by 1922 it had fallen to just under 500 due to various factors such as World War I and Prohibition problems. However, things began to turnaround in the late 1920s when local businessmen came together to form the town board which created new ordinances governing business practices and development in town. This led to a resurgence in business activity through the 1930s until WWII caused a decline again. However, things started to get back on track after 1945 when veteran’s organizations helped create jobs for local residents as well as provide social services like housing for servicemen stationed nearby (orchard beach is home to Camp Blanding). As Businesses revived growth continued through the 1960s until 1970 when oil production began making Ormond Beach more active politically than ever before with elections being held every year thereafter (later changing to bi-annual). However, following several decades of stagnation or even decline most recently; economic restructuring in 2007 caused significant layoffs among locals resulting in some homes becoming vacant once again leading some people to believe that “the good old days are gone forever”1- however despite this recent downturn;OrondoBeach remains one of America’s most vibrant tourist destinations with countless activities available year-round whether you are looking for an easy day trip or something more challenging such as exploring its history or enjoying its sights and sounds!
