In 2002, APC merged with FirstEnergy Corp.] The economic development of Orlando has been based on its hosting capacity for events such as Super Bowls and World Cup games; its location within easy reach of major airports; its industrial base; its location near theme parks such as Universal Studios Resort and Walt Disney World Resort; and its access to major transportation routes such as Interstate 441, I-Drive, State Road 408/407/406/405/SR 527[1], US 41[2], US 301[3]
