However, the town continued to grow with small businesses starting up such as Dickey's general store which still operates today (renamed Fenton Place Mall), Huckleberry Finn Clothing Store (later renamed Sunoco), Mr Koons Hardware (now called Walmart) and finally Star Market which became an anchor tenant at Fenton Place Mall after Walmart bought out Huckleberry Finn Clothing Store in 1984 In 1907, Oldsmar annexed neighboring unincorporated communities of KendallBayou and Cutler Bayou north of I-95A/SR 704; these annexation ceremonies were performed by then Mayor Atherton Royalties during a special session called to commemorate King George Washington's birthday that year In 1912, construction began on what would become Marlins Field which hosted its first game against Jacksonville on April 12th vs . New York Yankees On January 2nd 1916 James "Jimmy" Byrne became the first player ever drafted by any team when he was selected #5 overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1916 MLB Draft from Oldsmar High School where he had played football for coach John Heisman
