Oldsmar is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 26,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. Oldsmar was founded by J.D. Olds and his brother-in-law, George Wills in 1892. The name comes from an Indian word meaning "the place where the oaks grow." The community's first school opened in 1893 and it continued to serve students until 1915 when it became a public library with a student enrollment of over 1,000. In 1926, Oldsmar gave birth to its first football team which played its home games at the local high school until 1934 when they moved to Lakeland Stadium for the 1935 season and then back to Oldsmar for two seasons before joining Hillsborough River High School (now Hillsborough Community College) for the 1938 season which remains their home field today as well as their largest donation of money ever made to any college or university. In 1945, following World War II service in Japan during the Pacific Theater of Operations, Mrs. Cletus Hargrave donated land on which would become Oldsmar's main shopping center—the Hargrave Center—and later additional retail development including an old post office building that still stands today and has been used as both a club house/golf course clubhouse and also as a music venue by various artists throughout its history including Kiss (five times), ACDC (four times), Red Hot Chili Peppers (twice), U2 (once). Additionally; there exist several smaller businesses located within walking distance of each other that have served residents since before incorporation such as KFC, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts etcetera making life easy if one desires some variety while living close-by but not having all access to what one may need or desire like grocery stores or professional services like plumbing/heating/etcetera needed for day-to-day living such as clothes ironing etcetera; however self reliant busy lifestyles do eventually lead people towards seeking out more diverse options after sometime feeling limited due lack thereof even within local communities! One could go on forever about how wonderful Oldsmar truly is but suffice it to say that regardless if looking at just statistics or simply spending time here oneself one can easily see why this small town has managed to maintain such consistant growth over many years despite oftentimes difficult circumstances faced by others nearby; something special happens when people come together for shared interests!

Oldsmar, Florida is a town in Leon County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,624 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The history of Oldsmar began with the construction of the Tampa and Oldsmar Railroad in 1884 by two energetic businessmen, James M. Olds and Elisha P. Killeen. They named their towns after themselves - Tampa for James M. Olds and Oldsmar for Elisha P. Killeen - to further promote railroad investments and maintain friendly relations between the two towns that were located so close together onautical terms (Oldsmar was just east of Tampa on Hillsborough Bay). The first post office was established in 1886, but it did not open until 1888 due to technological difficulties caused by an obstruction from a swampy area adjacent to the tracks: "It has been found impossible to erect a building which will overreach this obstacle... A large woodcutter's sawmill having been erected nearby some time ago cut through this obstruction and made it possible for us to issue our first mail." In 1903, when old Ft Myers was annexed into Leon county as part of what is now Sarasota-Bradenton metropolitan area, most residents Byron Willscom and his brother John Capps decided they would move away from their warm weather home in Fort Myers if they could find a place closer to work where they could still put down roots without constantly havingto travel long distances. They started looking for an agricultural center that would be annexed into Tallahassee so they could get help with raising crops during wintertime when there wasn't much available outside of Their respective townships because all land had been taken up by subdivisions or plantations following tractors arriving during the early 1800's white settlement in what is now Leon County". After traveling throughout centralFlorida looking for something like Tallahassee but never finding anything promising enough they came up with the idea of creating a town specifically out around their farm property known as "Oldsmar", named after them since their original land purchase back in 1884; their farm became known as "Oldsmar Farms" today). In 1907 Coopersville got its own post office while Ft Myers continued providing service only within its own township boundary! By 1911 both towns had populations under 1K residents each! Despite these obstacles New Smyrna Beach became annexationee into Ft Myers in 1912 making both original Towns obsolete! On December 15th 1913 about 400 people including Officers from both Towns met at Fort Myers Market Square downtown to annexe Cedar Key Island into Ft Myers!!! This event marks Gainesville's entrance onto mainlandFlorida proper!!! With such expansion happened alot of change not only insideofoldsmar but alsoincoopersville which went from being almost completely rural…..population 5….downto 3…..and finally 2……..all thanks to annexation!!!!!!!"
