It is believed that Mr. Howell began making rifles in 1817 and handguns in 1821. In 1838, he started making rifles with a new design that became known as the “Oldsmobile Rifle”. This rifle was used by General Andrew Jackson during his presidential campaign of 1840. The Oldsmobile Rifle was also used by General Joe Ladd during the Mexican-American War and by General Winfield Scott during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Today, most Ar15 receivers are produced by Parkland Armory in Coral Gables, Florida. Parkland Armory began manufacturing receivers for Ar15 firearms in 1984 and has continued to produce high quality receiver products ever since. All of their receivers are made from MIL-STD 1913Picatinny rail compatible materials which makes it easy to add accessories such as lights or lasers to your weapons!

Oldsmar is a town in Lee County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by General James Wilkinson in 1821 as Wilkinson's Creek Settlement. The first store opened in 1824 and the first post office in 1827. By 1830, Oldsmar had a population of 241 people and two hotels. A school was built in 1832 and a Masonic lodge was chartered in 1836. In 1840, Wilkinson donated land to build a courthouse and jail; construction began that year and the town reached its peak population of 900 by 1860. However, due to economic problems such as lack of water resources and infrastructure development, Oldsmar declined until it lost its incorporated status in 1908.During World War II, Oldsmar became an air base for the Allied forces with about 100 military personnel stationed there from 1942 through 1945; after the war ended, most of these personnel were discharged or left before new buildings could be erected on the site. Today only traces remain of these wartime facilities: one large hangar still stands on the property housing an airplane manufacturing company; another small hangar formerly housed an ammunition storage depot now serves as a museum dedicated to Air Force aviation history Oldsmar has remained primarily agricultural since its founding but now contains some commercial businesses including several small stores and restaurants along with three churches: First Baptist Church (founded 1959), Methodist Episcopal Church (founded 1865), and Presbyterian Church (founded 1913). One notable feature is that all four churches share one crosswalk which leads from Main Street into each churchyard where crosses can be found located near each tombstone marker from when those churches were founded

By 1965, it had become a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. In 2000, it merged with Plantation Beach to form the current municipality of Oldsmar. Oldsmar has been home to many famous Americans such as Jackie Robinson and Cecil B. DeMille. The original cotton plantation that ran through the town was later developed into one of South Florida's most successful resort towns during the post-World War II boom period. It also hosted several Formula One races over the years including the 1984 American Le Mans Series race at Daytona International Speedway which saw Michael Schumacher win his first championship title; and the 1998 Canadian Grand Prix which saw Damon Hill take his third world title despite starting from pole position. Today, Oldsmar is known for its annual Fourth of July parade which features floats made out of antique cars and motorcycles along with patriotic songs such as "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "The United States Of America."
