In 1937 Oldsmar annexed parts of Grassy Key which made it its own municipality; after that annexation all municipalities within Polk County were consolidated into one entity known as "Oldsmar". Today, Oldsmar is known for its annual Christmas parade which starts on December 5th and ends on December 8th streetside with floats decorated with ornaments including trees (or lack thereof), candy canes, wagons pulled by horses or dogs, hay wagons full of presents for kids and refreshments for adults - among other things - along First Street downtown.

In 1906 George Winton bought the house from Mr. Hagan for $10,000 becoming the second Mayor of Oldsmar In 1907 Mrs Fenton donated land to build a public school which became Pine Point High School before being renamed again to Oldsmar High School when it opened in 1959 In 1912 Charles Kapp leased land adjacent to Pine Point High School from Mrs Fenton for use as an Agricultural Research Station where he developed new crops such as cotton and corn Oldsmar also had its own radio station WKRP (AM) which began operations on February 17th 1928
