There is no one answer to this question as gun sights have been part of American firearms for over two centuries. Ocoee is a town in Marion County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ocoee was founded in 1892 and is named for Indian Chief Okeechobee. The first permanent white settlement in Marion County was on the east side of the Stonington River near what is now downtown Ocoee. This early settler group included207 men and 17 women who huddled around a personal fire built by Capt. James Henshaw to provide heat and light for their winter encampment on December 15, 1892. They were met with hostility by nearby Seminole Indians, who burned down the original house and all its contents within two hours of arrival. A small but lasting legacy of this initial encounter was that Henshaw's name became synonymous with peaceful protest against discrimination against Seminoles throughout much of north Florida during the 19th century (and into the 20th). In 1903, when Kissimmee became an incorporated city, it petitioned Marion County to annex it as one of its own; however, county officials refused because Kissimmee did not have a jail or other essential municipal services needed for an annexation application to be successful. In 1905, Kissimmee merchants formed a Citizens' Committee to demand county government recognition as a separate municipality; after more than three years of fruitless effort they succeeded in getting organized into a city corporation on January 1st 1906 under charter number 7-00914 from Mayor Jno Dorgan (later Governor Jeb Bush) On November 10th 1907 voters approved incorporation as City of Kissimmee over objections from several citizens including Mayor John Cavanaugh who argued that “the people here are too poor to support themselves without assistance from Government” After more than two decades as an unincorporated community located off Upland Road between Old Grimes Road and Interstate 495 nestled among palm trees outside Ofcrest Hospital until annexation by Orlando in 2003 finally brought economic development necessary for city hall construction which began in earnest in 2006 complete with new streetscape designed by internationally acclaimed landscape architect Rodney Morrissey

Ocoee, Florida is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 8,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Ocoee was founded in 1892 by John S. Hickey and his wife, Anna Murchison, on a floodplain of the Everglades River. The first settlers were farmers who grew crops and raised livestock on their farmsteads that stood today on what is now SW 2nd Street between NW 8th Avenue and NW 10th Avenue. The name "Ocoee" was given to the town by Captain James Cook during his exploration of Florida in 1795-96 while exploring the mouth of the St Johns River. Cook's party passed through this area on their way from Key West to Fort Lauderdale. In 1892, John S Hickey arrived with his family to start a new life in Ocoee after purchasing land from Indian traders near Marathon Beach on Clearwater Bayou. The Hickey home still stands today as a museum inside of St Petersburg Heritage Park (). On July 4th 1892, Hickey made history when he set up business as an ice cream vendor throughout downtown Ocoee selling cones called "Pineapple Fairs". In 1924, Mrs Hickey donated her entire six acre lot next door to her house for use as Village Green which still remains today as one of only two parcels left in Ocoee Township (the other being present day Aventura). Today nearly all residents in OcoEE live within walking distance of either downtown or Village Green; however there are also several apartments and condos located away from these areas that accommodate high-population density establishments like hotels and shopping malls situated along SW 2nd Street corridor just northwest of downtown core minutes walk away . Additionally many businesses have relocated or closed down within recent years due to economic conditions including truck stops that used to be located along NE 1st Ave., south side arterial Highway 7A just west of east side HWY 9E - which has been known locally as "The Strip" for its wide variety nightclubs , strip malls close by such as Hollywood Casino Amphitheater (just southwest), Lululemon Athletica athletica mall - about 5 minutes drive north east off I-95S near Orlando International Airport - several large office parks just north including One Tree Hill Crossing Corporate Center Complex right off US 27N exit 287 / I-595exit 287A - Mall at MetLife Stadium Parkway mall - less than 15 minutes drive northeast off I-595/US 27N exit 287 across Sunrise Highway
The city of Ocoee was founded in 1836 by James Fenton and his wife, Lucy. The town grew rapidly due to the production of cotton plantations in the area and its location on the mouth of the St. Johns River. In 1847, Ocoee became a county seat and was renamed Jacksonville. In 1865, Jacksonville annexed portions of Duval County and changed its name to Jacksonville Beach. In 1898, Jacksonville moved from its original downtown site to what is now known as Fantasy Key. The city's rapid growth led to problems with pollution and water shortages which contributed to Hurricane Andrew's destruction in 2001. In 2002, the City Council voted to switch from an all- gasoline-powered mayor to a electric mayor effective January 1, 2003. Today, Jacksonville is home to one of Florida's most successful energy companies – Everglades Energy – as well as two major malls - Midtowne Mall and Jaguars Stadium - both built while Jax was still a part of Duval County
