The median household income is $75,000 (); the average household size is 2); and 24% have no education beyond high school diploma or less. 28% of residents are married couples living together; 33% have one child under 6 years old residing with them; and 54% have two children 6 through 12 years old living with them

He purchased land east of US 1 and built a log cabin which served as his home until he died in 1865. His son John Mays built a two story wood frame house on what became known as "Mays Street" in 1870. In 1892, Arthur Giles bought land adjacent to Mays Street from John Mays' grandson for $3,000 cash money and donated it to the town of Doral for development purposes. In 1898, Alfred Jarvis added 107 acres (41 ha) to the west side of present daySR 10/SR 518 forming what became known as Jarvis Estates (). In 1922, Drury Homes Corporation developed an estate called "Belle Isle". This was one of only a few estates developed outside urban areas during that time period and remains one of America's most well-preserved examples of Mediterranean Revival architecture today. Belle Isle consisted of 209 individual apartments over 9 stories with full service kitchens and pantries on each floor and six steamboats moored out front providing easy access to all types of water sports including swimming, boating, fishing and windsurfing.(Belle Isle Estate Today). In 1961 when Miami International Airport opened its doors, US1 crossed Mrsiles Key Bridge connecting Oakland Park with Homestead AFB just east of I-595 bypassing downtown Doral making it easier for military personnel who were then living near US1 to commute into work insteadof driving through downtown Miami every day! The name change from Belle Isle Airport to Oakland Park Airport occurred shortly thereafter due to community support for expanding their airport into undeveloped lands north past I-595 south towards University Boulevard!
Oakland Park is located in Broward County, Florida and was founded on December 14, 1892. The community of Oakland Park was named for the location of an old plantation that once stood in central Broward County. The first store in the community was built on what is now First Street and Central Avenue. In 1916, a post office was established in Oakland Park. By 1923, the population of the community had grown to 1,500 residents and it began to develop as a residential area. On September 25, 1938, the first municipal building in Oakland Park were dedicated and it served as the town hall until 1978 when it became the county courthouse. In 1984-1986, two new elementary schools were constructed within walking distance of each other in downtown Oakland Park. After years of growth and development by local businesses and citizens, commercial services became available throughout downtown Oakland Park beginning in 2007 when Stonington Landing opened as a mixed-use project consisting of four blocks of commercial space with apartments above ground level with retail storefronts beneath them.
