He died from the incident. In 2007, a woman was tased after screaming at her husband. She later died from the injuries. In 2015, two men were tased after trying to break into a home in North Lauderdale. One of them died from the attack and the other was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

These projects have included new jobs opportunities for residents as well as expansions of businesses within the city limits such as a new library and movie theater complex which opened in 2009, as well as renovations to various public housing buildings across town that have been completed since 2007. In 1963, North Lauderdale incorporated as a city and began to grow rapidly due to its location within walking distance of both downtownMiami and South Beach. In 2003, North Lauderdale annexed land east of Interstate 95 that had been used by the Veterans Administration Hospital until it closed in 2002. As part of this annexation process, North Lauderdale became one of only a few cities in America which allows for annexation by other municipalities without first applying for approval from their council members
No one knows for sure when North Lauderdale was first settled, but it is thought to be around 600 BC. The area that now includes North Lauderdale was originally inhabited by the Timucua people. By 1100 AD, the town of Fort Lauderdale had been established and began expanding rapidly. In 1853, the first railroad was built through this part of Florida and Fort Lauderdale quickly became a major commercial center. The city continued to grow as a result of its location and importance in the region. Throughout the 1800s, North Lauderdale struggled with several issues such as poverty and disease. However, when prohibition began in 1920, things changed for North Lauderdale. With Prohibition ended, businesses could start developing in this part of Florida again and North Lauderdale became one of the most prosperous cities in America.
