In the early 1800s, Niceville was a small town in Florida. The residents of this small town were interested in firearms and their use. They developed a system to rotate their handguns so that they always faced forward. This practice allowed them to keep an eye on their opponents and protect themselves from potential attacks. This practice of rotating handguns was eventually adopted by other towns in Florida and it became known as the "Gun Swivel." This practice helped protect people from attack and also helped ensure that ammunition was kept safe.

Niceville is located in Brevard County, Florida. As of the 2010 census, its population was 93,711. It is the county seat of Brevard County and a major center for economic development. Niceville is home to the University of South Florida, Florida State University, and Orange Park Community College. The main shopping district in town is called "The Landing." The first Europeans to visit Niceville were Spanish traders who arrived in 1565. A permanent European settlement began in 1768 when Englishman James Ogle bought land near what is now downtown Niceville from the Seminole Indians. In 1822, General Andrew Jackson moved his headquarters from Nashville to Greeneville after defeating Ft. Sumter during the American Civil War and became president of the United States. He named Niceville for General John Fenton Richardson, commander of Federal forces at Mobile Bay during that conflict. Jacksonville was then chosen as the new U.S capital because it had more than one million people living within its boundaries at that time (Ulysses S Grant would later rename it Washington D.C.). As America's economy grew and transportation improved throughout the 19th century, Niceville gained a reputation as a business center with excellent connections to larger cities across America and Europe. In 1892, local businessman Emil Jannings organized a $3 million state bond issue to build an express train line between Jacksonville and Tampa alternately stopping at each town on its way between those two cities; this helped spur rapid growth in industry around town while also providing much-needed tax revenue for schools and other government services. By 1907, when Jacksonville annexed Niceville as part of its city limits, most businesses had closed or relocated out of town due to competition from Jacksonville's burgeoning commercial sector; however, several large industrial companies still operated out of niceVILLE until recently thanks both to their location within easy commuting distance by car or plane as well as their access to various natural resources such as oil shale and phosphate deposits nearby which have made them some of Southeast Florida's most successful businesses ever[1]. During World War II (1941-1945), large quantities of munitions were produced in northeast Brevard County by plants operated by Bendix Corporation (now Boeing) on White Oak Boulevard just outside town limits; these plants are now surrounded by neighborhoods still bearing this name today[2]. Many small businesses survived shipyards being built along TCPalm Boulevard southwest of town beginning in 1943 until they too closed down during Red Flag Week 1945 due primarily to high costs associated with wartime production.[3] Afterward many residents left their homes behind but few jobs followed suit leaving little money available locally for redevelopment projects other than rebuilding old buildings into condos/rentals etc.; however even this option has been tried unsuccessfully several times over recent years[4]. In recent years numerous attempts have been made by developers interested in redeveloping niceVILLE into a mixed-use development including: 1) A hotel/motel project currently under development called "Homespun" which would include 163 apartments/condos/townhouses with approximately 350 parking spaces adjacent to Interstate 95 southbound exit 123B; 2) A similar project currently under construction called "Nova" which would include office space totaling 6 floors atop an existing shopping mall complex on I-95 northbound exit 124A; 3) An effort underway by two brothers named David & Ross Peckhoff designed specifically for residential uses known as "Oasis"; 4) A condo/apartment complex proposed calling itself simply "New York" which would be located on One Hundred Fifty Five acres east side Of Main Street adjacent To Fort Meyers Resort Casino & Spa - one potential attraction being an indoor water park complete with opportunities for theme park rides; 5) An apartment complex planned originally christened "Aloha" but renamed shortly before groundbreaking due mostly because residents objected vociferously about possible changes that could be made without consulting them such as eliminating streetlights or increasing traffic volumes near their homes - this project has yetTo materialize either partially or fully despite multiple requests from developers over recent years
