It is believed that the magazine was established by two brothers, Herman and Clarence Crouse. The magazine is currently run by their grandson, Bryan Crouse. The Magazine started out as an advertising brochure for various guns that were being sold at local gun shows. It quickly grew into a legitimate publication and began printing its own issues. In 1950, the company moved to its present location on Bay Street in New Port Richey. New Port Richey, Florida is a city in Orange County, Florida. The population was 23,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. New Port Richey was founded in 1887 by James Gadsden and Anna Maria Gadsden as a small farming community on the tidal river's edge. The name was derived from English "new" (a new beginning) and "port" (a place to land). In 1898, following the completion of the Panama Canal, New Port Richey became one of the first communities in Florida to be served by Amtrak. The first post office in New Port Richey was established on December 3, 1887. On October 5 of that year, Jno Burchill opened a store at 9 E Main Street which became the nucleus for what would become today's town center. By 1899 there were six businesses in town; three stores, two hotels and one general store catering to travelers visiting Miami or Tampa on their way to points northward via steamboats on Lake Okeechobee and then across to Central America or South America aboard ships sailing through Panama Canal Zone waters. Many early settlers were citrus growers who transported their fruit south along I-4 corridor from central Florida during winter months to market before springtime when oranges could begin ripening naturally off trees due east of Palm Beach County proper - this continued until after World War II when markets shifted westward towards Miami as oranges began ripening naturally further inland around Fort Myers/Fort Pierce Bayou region - making transportation difficult if not impossible without expensive air travel! In 1922 Drs John Goodwin and Harry Weimer opened Grady Hospital with its pediatric wing which functioned until 1976 as Orange Coast Medical Center now known as Grady Memorial Hospital #1 & #2 located at 401 S Orange Blossom Trail Suite A - one block north of downtown just past First Unitarian Church (originally Methodist Episcopal Church built 1886), once home of Grady Pharmacy which operated adjacent thereto from 1902-1976 prior to that building becoming Federal Reserve Bank building housing Citrus Heights Savings Bank branch from 1912-1975; later renamed First National Bank Building vacated circa 1978 by bank upon reopening asFirstMeritBankUSA under regulatory changes resulting from newly created real estate speculation caused by Baker Hughes merger into DuPont Paper Corporation - all within walking distance of each other on busyMain Street shopping district called Plaza de Oro /Old Town plaza adjoining original U.S. Post Office converted 1939 into Grady Mall including several major department stores such as Sears Roebuck & Co., Kress Martins Department Store, JCPenney & Co., Montgomery Ward Incorporated etc.; also included granny’s grocery store originally built 1905 still extant next door inside former drugstore prior to demolition 1973 [and yes an early example of self-serviceoding], various service stations including Exxon gasoline station opening 1957 adjacent courthouse lawn [now owner operated Mobil gas station across street], extensive Marine Corps Air Station Miramar closed 1984 relocated elsewhere within county limits but retaining its Marine Corps detachment barracks facility complete with 81+ feet water depth swimming pool & 14 football fields used also by local Amateur Radio Service operators; numerous business parks/strip malls developed throughout late 20th century none larger than 100 acres erected primarily for truck stop/motel type development containing many chain restaurants/mallstores plus dozens more smaller businesses spawned therein: most notably defunct theme park known locally simply as OldPortRichey featuringXavier University baseball stadium complex consisting solely of large open grass playing fields surrounded by high concrete walls enclosing bowl shaped stadium measuring nearly 200 acres enclosed within multiple security fences&watchtower(?) remaining today facing N side streets approaching city limits just outside city limits serving onlypless entertainment oriented mall functions currently undergoing renovationPhase III development plans are currently being formulated providing approximated site size growth rate ranging anywherefrom 20% thru 40%
