The Mount Dora Gun Club was founded in 1906. The first guns were shotguns and rifles. In 1916, the club started to sell pistols. In 1937, the club started to sell handguns.
Mount Dora, located in Escambia County on the Gulf of Mexico, is a census-designated place (CDP) and shopping center located within the unincorporated community of Mount Dora. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,947. The Mount Dora Shopping Center has 1,500 stores and services. It is home to the Magic Kingdom theme park. The first settlers in this area were white men from Georgia who founded a small post on what is now called Eastshore Drive in 1838. They named their new settlement after Mount Dora in Greece where they had experienced a visit that year. In 1839, surveyors discovered coal deposits at Mount Dora which led to additional development hereabouts. By 1840 there were several buildings and 50 families living here. In 1869, Jno Pugh built a steamboat dock at present day Dock #2 inside the shopping center for boaters coming upriver to access the resources at nearby White Sulphur Springs oil fields. This allowed shipbuilders and other businesses ashore to do business with local suppliers without having to go back downriver again and again as had been necessary before. This early development set the stage for future growth at Mount Dora which would continue unabated until well into the 20th century when oil production began declining throughout much of Florida due primarily to technological advancements made by Texas oilsands developers - substituting natural gas for traditional oil production methods - making it difficult for manufacturers such as Jno Pugh's successors Bob Chilton's GTO Boatbuilding Company Ltd., Inc., etc., which depended upon river traffic for their livelihoods, to keep pace with changes in technology without becoming obsolete or economically insolvent like their competitors had done before them; moreover these companies' physical infrastructure could no longer keep up with increasing demand resulting not only in layoffs but also an increase in crime rates). However despite this setback some entrepreneurs did manage to find new ways to stay afloat including Don Beasley who opened his own grocery store adjacent to Dock #1 soon after; Harry Ahern opened his first restaurant here about 1909 followed by Joe Russo's Italian restaurant opening about 1912; John Fenton established Fenton's Hardware Store opposite Dock #1 around 1915; Wm Henschel started selling gasoline near dockside late 1940s.; Raytheon bought GTO Boatbuilding Company Ltd., Inc.'s assets including its plant on Eastshore Drive in 1953 following World War II service connected jobs lost because of later fuel shortages caused by then newly introduced jet propulsion technologies however company continued operations under their original name until 1986 when it merged with United Aircraft Corporation forming Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co.. thereafter UAS continued as separate entities handling various military contractor contracts until 1998 when they too merged with McDonnell Douglas forming McDonnell Douglas Missile Control Technologies Co.. currently known as Northrop Grumman Space Technology Co.. The townspeople provide many activities that contribute positively towards their community such as arts and music events held throughout the year along with dances during Christmas season; carnivals consisting of midway rides and games similar in concept but featuring more variety than typical amusement park rides; annual golf tournaments staged over Memorial Day weekend culminating with championship matches played at Pinehurst Country Club across from town limits while campers enjoy pow-wows being held outdoors all summer long during "Powwow Season"; special foods offered exclusively at local restaurants during "Foodie Season;" walks/runs available year round throughout town limits laden with history/ Folklore information along side typically delicious treats made from regionally grown ingredients whenever possible courtesy of volunteer stewards who monitor program developments closely); various family reunions are also taking place annually celebrated lavishly thanks largely to generous contributions received from individuals or foundations representativeially chosen by elected officials through village advisor roles - refereed process overseen by highly respected private attorney employed full time since 2002 providing legal advice regarding such matters should unforeseen emergencies arise]; numerous art exhibitions are regularly sponsored showcasing local artists' work either exhibiting themselves or participating actively alongside professional gallery members who often exhibit some items piecemeal while visiting reciprocal shows hosted elsewhere within specific communities outside our official jurisdiction Generally speaking life goes pretty much according as it always has done... except maybe there might be one or two extra people out there trying hard not too hard

Mount Dora is a small mountain located in central Florida, approximately 25 miles northeast of Gainesville. It was formed by the collision of two smaller mountains, Mount Morrison and Mount Dora, about 10 million years ago. The peak is 614 feet (189 meters) high and has a diameter of only 2.5 miles (3 kilometers). The name "Dora" comes from the Seminole word "dori," meaning "big tree." The first Europeans to visit the area were Spanish explorers who named it San Salvador de los Osos after the local Big Tree Plantation. In 1821, Englishman John C. Smith discovered the island and named it Mount Dora in honor of his hero General James K. Polk. In 1892, Mount Dora was used as a location for tests run on an electric transmission line that led from Jacksonville to Gainesville. The line was destroyed by a storm on July 12th, 1896. In 1928, Mount Dora became part of Lake Placid National Lakeshore when it was created as part of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal program to improve public infrastructure in areas neglected during the Great Depression. Today, Mount Dora remains an important tourist attraction with its narrow summit surrounded by forest and meadowlands covered in wildflowers in early summer and fall; snow-covered peaks during winter; beautifulLake Placid views at any time of day or night; and diverse animal populations including deer, azurejaguars, bobcats, raccoons and ospreys
The first Europeans to visit the area were Spanish traders in 1513. A military expedition led by Captain Alonso de Ojeda discovered and explored the area in 1524. In 1614, Englishman John Montresor established a trading post on Dora Point, which became a key center for fur trading in the region. The early settlers were primarily Creek people who used the point as an outpost from which to trade with Native Americans. In 1821, Florida was acquired by Spain through a Purchase from Great Britain. The state of Florida was created from part of Spanish Louisiana on March 4, 1838, when Mexico ceded all of its territory east of the Mississippi River to America. By 1840, Floridas population had reached 10,000 people. During Reconstruction in America following the American Civil War (1861-1865), Mount Dora became an important center for black race relations and education after white local officials discouraged integration into local schools or refused to issue permits for African-American students to attend white school there. White residents also struggled with integrating new African American labor into their businesses and society as well as accommodating black residential areas that were not integrated until decades later. After Reconstruction ended in 1865, Mount Dora reverted back to its pre-reconstruction status as a small farming community with few industries or residents other than farmers and laborers until it experienced rapid growth during World War II due to its proximity to Jacksonville and Fort Everglades National Park
