O’Keefe also built an elementary school (now known as Miramar Middle School) in 1990 which served studentsinder through 8th grade until 1992 when Broward County added an 11th grade wing to serve students K-12th grade through high school graduation; then they moved to Coral Springs High School (Coral Springs Unified School District). That building served as their last student center until they replaced it with their current facility back in 2003 In Fall 2006 plans were announced to move all education services from Coral Springs High School into two buildings adjacent to each other on Northwest Second Street just north of Interstate 95 facing I-95 South - this would include almost all grades including pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade along with classes for 7th and 8th graders starting in 2009; however due to lack of funding this project never happened and currently there are no plans or future for any kind of educational expansion or renovation at Coral Springs HS . In Spring 2007 hurricanes Irma/ Ivan made landfall near Naples shortly before Midsummer weekend making landfall near Jupiter about 45 minutes before landfall near Fort Myers so much infrastructure damage still exists today not just homes but businesses too many unmet needs such as roofs have been completely lost gutters have been knocked out trees down power lines have been knocked out water line crossings are closed roads are CLOSED some homes still standing foundations remain

Miramar is a small town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It was named for the Miramar Key lighthouse, which overlooks the town. The population was 1,451 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit Miramar were Spanish missionaries in 1795. They built a small fort on the key and named it Santiago de Cuba after their captain who had discovered it. A few years later, Captain Cook sailed by and decided to name the island after him because he thought it resembled his homeland of Great Britain. In 1819, a group of Englishmen landed on Santiago de Cuba and founded an agricultural community called Winter Garden near modern-day Miramar. over time many other European people settled in what is now Palm Beach County as well including Germans, French Canadian farmers and Irish workers who made heavy investments in this new land before disappearing during World War II. In 1894 Miramar's first post office opened with five mail carriers Trotter (Lench) & Company serving all of Palm Beach County plus Rockledge and Stuartville on Stonington Key opposite Forbes Island Within two years they had doubled their number when they merged with West Palm Beach's Post Office Department which also served South Park Heights In 1898 a school system was organized with Ethelbert Kline providing instruction in natural sciences from her home until 1907 when she moved to Broward county where she continued teaching into her nineties In 1916 Commander John Laddecker donated land east of present day Miramar for use as military airfield during World War I This led to development around the airport area including homes, businesses and today’s airport terminal buildings Between 1918-1920 there were plans forLVTAA “The White Sands” airfield but these never came to fruition due to lack of funding . Today’s airport only began operations following WWII when Beech Aircraft Corporation purchased 3 thousand acres north of runway 9/27
The Miramar Naval Base is a United States Navy installation in Miramar, Florida. It was established on September 22, 1907 as the Miramar Naval Station. The base's first commanding officer was Rear Admiral John J. Pershing. In 1940, it became the naval airbase of the Atlantic Fleet and was renamed Naval Air StationMiramar after Major General William Halsey Macy, Jr., Commander-in-Chief US Forces Europe during World War II. On April 17, 1951, NAS Miramar became an integral part of Unified Tactical Air Command when it was activated at NAS Miami Beach. On October 15, 1992, NAS Miramar became part of USAF Central Command when that command was formed from all USAFE sections under unified command. In 2002 it again became a NATO facility with responsibility for maritime patrol operations in the Mediterranean Sea as well as providing basing for allied aircraft flying over Libyan airspace during Operation Odyssey Dawn (Operation Enduring Freedom). In July 2006, USS Abraham Lincoln (LHD 5) returned to NAS Miramar after being docked at Pearl Harbor for repairs following her May 2005 collision with USS Fitzgerald (FFG 58). The return madeMiramar one of only two naval installations in America still capable of hosting both types of ships together while they are being repaired or replaced; the other is Norfolk Naval Shipyard where FFG 58 is also berthed.
